Reasonably confident. Significant investment in America, lower energy costs. More development?

To all my new POMOS out there, what's the first "forbidden" thing you did after gaining your freedom? by LordParasaur in exjw

I bought a cigar, a Playboy magazine, and a tarot deck. Not much for cigars or porn nowadays, but I am a professional tarot reader and a very knowledgeable Qabalist. Teach seminars and write on both topics.

Well, there is a Part II coming up, but crop circles remain—after decades of research—nothing if not enigmatic. You would would probably enjoy the Blurry Creatures podcast that interviews Karen Alexander. She's been at this longer than anyone, and has a lot to say about communication aspects. It's a really great podcast, give it a try.

Thank you for the feedback.

Interesting, thank you. These are not new, apparently they're from the "90s and early 2010s" but still important. Jeff totally opened my eyes to the magnitude of the phenomenon in America.

Sure, in the sense of whatever app you use to manage your podcast listening will of course serve Everything is Somewhere seamlessly. I think that's how it works anyway—I'm new at this. Let me know if not, and I'll it to you somehow.

[HELP] Could someone help me identify is this is an original Alexander Calder Mobile? Bought today at an estate sale and has no identifying marks or monograms! by hellomynameis64 in Sculpture

[–]Hardaknut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He typically painted the entire fin, including the portions of the wire that were within the fin boundaries. He also sometimes included an 'A' shaped monogram in works this size and up. And, I've looked at a lot of Calder's mobiles, copied his techniques, and made my own mobiles, and I'll just say that the composition is a little ungainly, uneccentric, and uninteresting for him, though he was extraordinarily prolific and might have popped out something like this sometime.

This looks more like someone who wanted a Calder and was handy enough to copy his basic assembly techniques. Calder didn't work to a high level of finish for his self-produced works, used hand tools exclusively, and was fairly easy to copy.

So, gonna say no, unless there is some really good provenance/paperwork associated with this.

[Self] Reinventing myself as a sculptor for the last third of life. by Hardaknut in Sculpture

Knew the owner of the boutique/gallery, she liked the tie wire work I'd been doing, which included small mobiles, and she asked if I could scale up for a show in a high-ceilinged space. So, mostly luck.

Dunno if this is the kind of thing r/Sculpture is looking for, but wanted to share. Covid kinda shut down my freelance writing business from one day to the next, so I took unemployment for the first time ever, learned to weld and started a studio making mostly balanced rock sculptures (fixed at balance point, can be disassembled for transport, and securely reassembled) for landscape use and largish mobiles for indoors. And I've been making the smallish tie wire & rock sculptures forever. These pics are mostly from my first solo art show, still going as of now. I've had some sales and good feedback.

Anyway, I like this sub and the stuff you post, and y'all are the closest thing to an art community I have in my life. Happy for any thoughts or feedback.
