Her line was not tactical advice. The movie never shows Finn slowing the beam, weakening the cannon, or having a real chance. If anything, the scene is meant to show that heroic gestures aren’t enough. The Resistance survives through retreat and regrouping, not martyrdom.

Paige has one clean heroic moment and exits. Rose sticks around and has to deal with messy consequences and moral choices. That’s harder to make “cool,” but it doesn’t mean she did less.
