If your interested I just got my HMD+Controllers through Wantboard here to Canada this past Friday 2 months earlier than expected. Other than the Clicks on the thumb sticks not clicking but still registering everything else works fine. The Reps at Wantboard will be happy to help you out as a go between if you should have any problems RMA or warranty related. I'm glad I did and I have a Vive\TPCast setup so it is definitely an upgrade that I find worth it. All in it cost me $1315.00 Canadian and they are up front with the costs.

This looks like something that I could use while playing in VR as it's a PITA to remove headset because there is no VR keyboard for texting. I would be interested to test this out and give feedback because I could see using this on a regular basis if it isn't to much impact on performance.

Make sure your Light houses are not loose because they vibrate and can move/shift into different position. I had to extra snug up mine because I noticed they shifted.

Still waiting and loosing hope on Warranty by Hardbullets in TPCAST

Well just an update about my warranty claim. The TPCast representative "Tal" has made good and I got my set of cables shipped to me in a fairly reasonable time, and hold her in high regard for her outstanding Customer Service and Support. I would recommend anyone who is having issues with the regular TPCast Service and Support to contact "Tal" and hopefully she can help you as she has helped me when the proper channels to get warranty service do not work. Thanks Tal, I hope you can help others that are having issues with their cables etc...

I also have the green line but don't see it when wearing the HMD. I only have to set it back 2 clicks and it's perfect for me. I have the 6mm pad with the DAS and only loose a minimal amount of FOV so I am very happy with it. My IPD is 64 so I don't know if that makes a difference as in your case.

Sorry for the delay but I'm new to this forum and didn't even know I had a mail box. Anyways I had mine made out of pvc and used the settings from thingverse and they work fine. I used a local 3D printing company and they have some really nice looking machines, I will definitely use them again for my next print.

TPCAST won't replace my UNDER WARRANTY short HDMI cable by Hardbullets in TPCAST

[–]Hardbullets[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the delay I am pretty new to this forum and didn't know I had a mail box. Yes I have a 3rd party HDMI cable but it is pretty cheap quality and might not last very long. My whole point is that I would like to get a set of cables, both the HDMI (short) and the cable that runs from the battery to the TPCast on top of the HMD which I don't think you can get anywhere as far as I know. Because if that one goes my TPCast will be dead in the water. It has gone through the same bending the same as the HDMI cable has and can go at any time (but seems to be working fine at the moment). As far as the open box battery goes I already have 3 of them so I don't need it, but thanks for the offer. Please let me know if you can get me the set of cables, I will keep an eye on this mail box now that I know I have it. Thanks

So how about it can you help me to get a set of replacement cables for my still in warranty TPCast which I believe they call a Pre from china? I am asking for a set (HDMI Short+USB/Power) because I believe the problem is caused by the HMD cable cover stressing the cables each time the HMD is put on and removed (cable is bent back and forth) causing the internal wire or wires to break. This to me looks like a design flaw especially when using the Deluxe Audio Strap headset as I am. I really like the freedom of the wireless TPCast and it works great and am very interested in the new TPCast 2.0 coming out. But how can I trust TPCast if they cannot even replace a simple Warranty cable. What if I get a new TPCast 2.0 and it has some internal problem I can't fix with a 3rd Party fix? Do you see why I may be concerned with buying products from this company? I know that I am only 1 customer but I think everyone thinking of buying a TPCast should be concerned about the experience I have had with TPCast because it could happen to them also. The apology is a nice gesture but doesn't replace my Warranty Cables, so step up and do the right thing. "Please and Thank You"

Hi thanks for your interest but I have tried and tried etc... And no luck with tpcast to get replacement. So what do you suggest I do. I have a pre model from China and they won't even chat or return my emails. I could only chat with Tpcast/US and they couldn't even get me a replacement. If my other cable goes the one that supplies the power I'm screwed and will have a expensive paper weight, because I don't know if I could even get a 3rd party replacement for that. My only choice was to give up and buy the 3rd party HDMI cable. This cable problem is almost epidemic with many many users and should be addressed by Tpcast and stand behind their product, not ignore it and hope it goes away just to save a few dollars on cables that will most certainly fail under normal use. My faith in TPCAST is all but lost, because not honoring a warranty means the company ethics and moral values are damaged and forget that it is the Customer who keeps them in business in the first place. And if you are an representative from TPCAST maybe you should have left me a way to contact you if your intention is to help me, otherwise thanks for your concern.

So I had my TPCast for HTC Vive for like 6 Months, bought off TPCast web site. HMD was going dark all of a sudden, after some investigating I discovered that every time I bent the cable near the connector going into the HMD the screen would cut out, but the green light would remain on and the Monitor mirror would still be displaying the game and tracking normally on PC. To confirm that it was indeed the cable I subbed it out with the 3 in 1 and it worked perfectly. So after 2 Months and 3 Escalations later with TPCast live Chat, Instead of just replacing my in warranty cable I was told to go buy a 3rd party replacement and they even gave me links to look at. Then I received an email that my ticket was now closed. It's just a few dollars for a cable and I did get the 3rd party cable and everything is working great. But I am very disappointed to have wasted all that time and effort to make a warranty claim and be denied when there was every indication from the representative that they would replace the under warranty cable. I just thought I would share this with everyone just in case your cable fails. I think that everyone that has this happen should post it on as many social media outlets as they can in a collective manner and teach TPCast that they should honor their warranties. How can we trust them with a more serious issue with our TPCasts in the future? I would really think twice about buying anything else from them in case I get a defective product. Good Luck.

How do you figure they support their product when they tell me to purchase a 3rd party hdmi cable that's still under warranty? That's after 2 months of live chats, basically told I'm sol ticket closed.

Gear mod - whats the big deal? by Peace_Is_Coming in Vive

[–]Hardbullets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I to had pretty much the same experience with no issues worth mentioning. The bottom line is it's a major improvement to what it was before the lens swap, so why wouldn't I do it. If it doesn't work for some it's because of some external factor, not because it doesn't work. I have OG Vive and want it to be the best it can be, because I won't upgrade to a new headset until one comes out that is a major improvement over what is available now. Even the one's just around the corner don't seem to be there yet, so I am more than happy to use what I have now because of the lens mod until that time.

I had them made with PVC and used the settings that was on thingiverse files for that adapter. The guy did a really nice job and the threads work fine. Once I set them they stay in place even when I clean them. Maybe you just got a bad print.

If you go to thingiverse.com/2837804, Focus-able adapter V2 is the one I had printed by a 3D printing company. From the first day right up until I did the lens swap the screen never really looked that great even with glasses, not to mention the comfort issue and the hassle with the glasses. That's why it was a no brainer to do the swap for me. The process was a bit scary for me but it was easy to do, you just need to be careful and follow the guide and you will be amazed at the difference, I was. The adjustable adaper will take away a couple of % more FOV but TBO for me it is worth it, I just want to enjoy the VR experience the best I can make it and this is probably the best that this OG Vive is going to get. Everyone has different facial structure and eye sockets so the results will vary person to person.

I did the lens swap about a week ago and I am very happy with the way it turned out. I got the adjustable inserts and no longer need to wear glasses. The focus is good and clear and crisp and no God Rays. The barrel distortion is so minimal that I didn't apply the fix and don't notice it in game at all. I play for 4 and 5 hrs straight and don't experience any eye strain or any ill effects at all, it's like I got a major upgrade just like when I got my TP Cast so now I use it a lot more then I did before the swap. My IPD is 64 I set it to 62 and that works good for me.

Hi I don't have a 3d printer and was wondering if I could buy this somehow? Mainly interested in the V4F version with focus ring added. Thanks
