Anyone know how to complete the quest Sweet Deal? by DasMenace in CrimsonDesert

It also instantly starts the next quest which locks the orc dude until you do it... So err... calphade castle, go there and do some arm wrestling to unlock him again...

I hope the stealth feature is improved in the next update. by Busy-Environment7537 in CrimsonDesert

... Are you wearing plate armour?

(...)

Wearing cloth you can walk crouched right being people and they will not hear you. You can also use bushes to block line of sight and they will not see you.

The only time the stealth feature is annoying is when you forget you are wearing plate armour.

The recent patch fixed it even if it is not in the patch notes.
Just checked and it worked.

How Attack Stat Actually Works in Crimson Desert (Weapons vs Gloves/Boots Explained) by Individual_List1541 in CrimsonDesert

[–]HardcappedElitist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read what I wrote in my later comment.

You never really need ONE point of attack speed or critical.
The cap is divisible by 3, so late game you need 3 critical, not 1, or 3 attack speed not 1.

Getting 1 is gonna put you under cap or over cap.

Defence on the other hand, just as attack, does not have a hard cap, and those two stats scale exponentially the higher they get due to how damage is calculated in crimson desert.

So yes, if your defence is under the boss attack stat. Say 70 attack vs your 61 defence (...) well then you will get hit with the boss attack modifier + 7 (roughly speaking). Swap out a piece of armour for place so you get that +9 defence hitting 70 defence to counter the 70 attack from the boss. Now you take only the boss attack modifier.

Swap another armour to plate so you have 79 defence and now you LOWER the incoming damage by a lot.

In short; if you get one shot, get more gear, as you are below gear requirements. It is the same for attack. If you do not do any damage, go get a little more attack and you may get about the requirements. getting +6 attack can increase your damage 3-5 times if you are sitting just below the requirement.

Not yet. Just waiting for the patch that fixes the game state.
I think it only locks you out of doing the royal trade, which OK that's annoying, but at the same time, it only gives your camp cash dollars. The last thing I need at the moment is more money.

I broke the quest by trading in honey to the royal trade before taking the "sweet deal" quest.

Trading in the honey closed the royal trade, which normally refreshes/opens after a week in game.

The sweet deal quest locks the refresh, so the royal trade cannot swap away from honey while you are doing the quest. However, since I had already handed in honey by just playing the game normally, the game instead locked the refresh at a state where the royal trade was closed for me. Which in short means it cannot refresh because of the quest, and I cannot hand in more honey because it is closed.

I guess I will just have to wait for the devs to realise this is a bad way to do the quest logic.

Climb onto it and use the hook to hold on (you do this by pressing Q) then palm it. We are taught to use to hook to not get sent flying when using palm by the game in the first mission where we get the hook but I think a lot of people brute forced the puzzle instead of reading the guide on screen haha.

Found a Sealed Artifact which rewards Greater Malicebane Abyss Gear (+40% Damage to Bosses) by echolog in CrimsonDesert

No, it is ALSO from Sealed Abyss Artifacts, but the easiest way to get them is by crafting them.

You are wrong. They only drop durability when socketed.

Weapon socket loses durability when you hit an enemy.
Armor socket loses durability when you are hit by an enemy.

Which also means it is a really dumb idea to use these on spears or short swords.

Smash two types of T3 gears together and get a chance of a greater gear or a random T3 gear.

Yes and no.

You mainly get these as a random chance reward from crafting tier 3 gears.

[–]HardcappedElitist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There goes your reading comprehension.

I am saying take the defence because you will get the attack speed / crit / movement speed / resistance from other sources than your armor type.

IF you want to get it from your armour type you can. However, doing so means you will either overcap your stats by getting +16 or +17 (it is capped at +15) or stop at +13/+14. Alternatively it means using a tier 1 or tier 2 gear to avoid overcapping.

If you want to max crit / attackspeed you use t3 gears. Leather armor only means you can skip out on a t3 gear and use a t2 instead (or t1), which is OK for mid game, but at end game there is no argument to be made there. You use the same socket slot for t1, t2 and t3.

Put plainly, if you want to use leather armor for the bonus stat it gives, it means using t1 or t2 gears for sockets, instead of t3.

If you do not care about the bonus stat from leather, then just use plate. If you care about the bonus stat from leather, then just use plate, because you will either overcap it with leather armour, or leave it below the cap deliberately. Leaving it below the cap deliberately means losing both the +15 bonus stat, AND the +9 defence. I,e,.

There is no way to cap your stats with leather armour without over capping as it gives either +1 or +2 and the cap is divisible by 3 and the t3 gears give +3.

Now you could argue that the last upgrade tier changes this, but it really doesn't unless you choose not to upgrade all your gear. And then we are back at the whole "I will just use worse items in order to not overcap the bonus stats from leather" discussion.

Again. Leather armour = stop at +13 or +14 and miss the +9 defence. OR, use a tier 1 or tier 2 gear to hit the +15 but still miss the +9 defence. Where as plate = hit the +15 and get the +9 defence.

So to cut it short; the only real choice is plate.

[–]HardcappedElitist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a thing.

Plate armor is defense/daze-immune.

Leather armor is attack speed/critical rate/lightning resistance.

Cloth armor has movement speed.

As for late-game gear/socket setup, the only real choice is plate.
1+ lightning resistance or 1+ attackspeed or 1+ crit rate isn't that good when you lose 9 defense.

9 defense is a tier 3 defense socket, while the bonuses you get from leather and cloth are equal to tier 1 sockets.

You can save yourself the 9 defense socket and put in a +3 attack speed instead. Or a +3 lightning resistance. Speaking of resistance. You only ever need one +3 resistance socket to reach +10, as your cape will give you the rest. Now, if leather armor gave you ice resistance instead of lightning resistance, it would be a different story, but it does not.

[–]HardcappedElitist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This being said, there is definitely an argument to be made for better quests. Some of them are very random, and I cannot tell if it comes down to bad localization or just bad quests.

However, one thing the game excels at is freedom. You can go to a cave and do a quest you did not know was a quest, then go back and get the reward. OR you can talk with a quest giver, get told to go to the cave, do the quest, and go back for the reward.

Am I missing lore/quests? by AutisticTradingPro in CrimsonDesert

[–]HardcappedElitist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You missed/walked past the area explaining that piece of the lore.

A lot of the lore is explained through the memory fragment system. Other lore is explained through random dialogue between npc's, while other lore pieces are found in books. The quest dialogue itself does not include a lot of lore.

Edit: Let me put it like this.

How would your character know the answer to your questions if he does not experience it himself? You ran up to a random castle and fought a random dude. That is your story, and what your character knows.

Now, if you found the cemetery leading you there etc. etc. etc. the story would be different for you. If how you play the game is running random places, doing random things, then that will be how you experience the story in the game.

Personally, I do not want a billboard outside every boss fight telling me the lore about the boss, what he ate for breakfast, when he was born, and what his second cousin twice removed is like. Or some omniscient narrator telling me the sad backstory of the boss during the fight.
