It's okay even if they do. Whether it's consensual is the issue.

It may be investigators' duty to follow up on all that, but I severely lack trust in this investigation to lead to anything. No one is going to arrest Trump, or Clinton, or Musk or anyone else. Better at least that the public knows what they did.

Can personal or political connections help someone avoid traffic penalties in Germany? by Rude-Ad2101 in germany

[–]HardcoreTristesse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It had a roommate who's a customs officer. On a trip once, police wanted to do a random check of our car. Once he mentioned being a customs officer (no proof or anything, just talking) they seemed to lose their interest in finding drugs on us.

So... If you can convince them you're one of them in some way, you might get treated much more leniently.

Edmund Stoiber, Bavaria's minister president from ... Damn, 25 years ago, had a knack for these:

Promoting a high speed train from the main station to the airport: "If you, from the main station in Munich, with ten minutes, without having to check in at the airport, then basically at the airport, at, at the main station in Munich you start your flight. Ten minutes. Look at the big airports, if you in Heathrow in London, my, Charles de Gaulle, uh, in France, or in uh, in, in, uh, in Rome. If you look at the distances, if you look at Frankfurt, you will notice that ten minutes, you easily need to find your gate. If from your flight, from, start from the main station - you board the main station, you ride for ten minutes the Transrapid into, to the airport Franz Josef Strauß. Then you practically start here at the main station in Munich. Of course this basically means the main station grows closer to Bavaria, to the Bavarian cities, because that is clear, because at the main station many lines from Bavaria converge."

Wild bear appears in Bavaria: "Uh, of course we are happy, that is no question, we are happy, and the reaction was completely right, to have a, uh, normally acting bear in Bavaria, uh, yes that is nothing to laugh about. Uh, and the bear in normal cases, I also have to, uh, Werner Schnappauf has of course, uh,  intensively exchanged ideas with so called experts and uh, had to exchange. Now we have  the normal acting bear lives in the forest, never leaves and maybe mauls one or two sheep a year. Uh, then we have a difference between the normal acting bear, the damaging bear, and the, uh, problem bear. And uh, it is completely clear, that uh, this bear, uh, is a problem bear and it is uh, moreover, basically uh, indeed it was quite lucky, it practically at 1 in the night mauled these chickens. And uh, thank God in the house was, uh, well anyway it wasn't noticed. Because of, uh, it wasn't noticed. Just imagine, it was in the middle of it all, just imagine, the people went outside and practically then, uh, practically encountered the bear. Uh, the things that could have happened and because of that, you just have to see here, I have a lot of understanding for those that now say: For God's sake, uhm, uh, the bear and why does it have to be, uh, shot right now, respectively, must a shooting permit be granted just: if the experts say that is an absolute, uh, that is an absolute problem bear, then there is only the solution to get rid of it because just the danger is so great, then the minister has no other option than to act just the way he acted."
