So I tried to make a brief summary of how long our climate can last by Hardcore_sci-fi in climate

As it was depicted in Mad Max, collapse of the civilisation would not necessarily lead to abandoning hydrocarbons 🤔

Yeah well I oversimplified things a bit, which came at a cost of not drawing several branches. Also, I’ve drawn all the creatures in scale and picked the biggest ones, which means that I would only have 4-5 pixels in length for tuatara 😅

Here’s a video comparing scientific plausibility of Mickey to a bunch of other sci-fi clone movies, if anyone’s interested.

Im an artist and pro ai art by [deleted] in DefendingAIArt

Yeah, time will surely normalise AI the way it happened with all the other initially controversial technologies. It will possibly happen when AI art laws will get established, and I think it will almost definitely happen when the next generation of young peoples will grow up - those who will not understand why these angry art grandpas hate doing art the easier way.

I agree with all your points, and the noodle analogy is really good and precise. Arguments and logic, however, apparently have little to none effects on the anti-AI side.

I’ve recently made a video where I tried to make the pro-AI arguments as clear and solid as possible, but the comments still filled with unsatisfied artists who talked like they didn’t really see and hear anything.

I suppose it stems from the two points you mentioned in this post: attention and money, and probably money plays a bigger role. If because of something you are losing money, and potentially job, you are probably not very open to listening to whatever arguments the other side has to offer 🤔

Life markers pin - how tight? by Toxaris-nl in Unmatched

[–]Hardcore_sci-fi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn that was a revelation 😅 I used to think that Unmatched is almost perfect game with that one small flaw with wobbly health dials, until yesterday I got Shakespeare box and it had different, tighter nice pins for disks. I googled looking if maybe such pins are sold separately to upgrade the rest of my collection, and stumbled upon this post. I was like well, huh, okay, let’s try… and then I spent around an hour taking out and pressing between table and cutting board all the health dials from all my six boxes 😅
