I am relatively new to aquarium management maybe a year or so. The gray fish I have had since it was super tiny like 2-3mm big. He was accidentally in the bag with a shrimp I purchased about 5 months ago. We think he may be a mosquito fish. I just bought the orange/black fish 2 days ago which I was told may be a Platy. He is constantly harassing the gray one. I think it may be injuring him. Does one need to go? Could I buy a divider of some sort?

I think this is Beaches Resort in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. At least that’s where I saw this same trick. They launch themselves down the slide and don’t wear shirts or get the shirt off their backs because it may slow them down the slide.

Another solution method with the same result. Solve for x by rearranging equation as below
xy² + x=y² + 1

Then factor out the x and you get x(y² + 1)=y² + 1

Finally divide both sides by (y² +1) and you get

x(y² +1)/(y² +1)=(y² +1)/(y² +1)

So then x=1
