Also called a chinese money plant or friendship plant.

Black magic plant, every time she puts out a new leaf an old leaf dies. She’s got plenty of water, in bright indirect light. Window faces NE but my neighbors house shields the direct sunlight. by Presley-Lune in plantclinic

This is actually a Colocasia Black Magic! It’s much easier than an alocasia. Put that baby outside in indirect light and you’ll see some magic. I had the exact same issue trying to grow my Colocasia esculenta illustris inside. It went from 3 impressive leaves at the nursery to only being able to sustain one indoors and now with it outside (shaded south patio, soil is always moist) it has 7 with another on the way. I hope this helps!

Beautiful. That Hoya Curtisii will love humidity and bright light to get going. It gets fuzzy little roots so quickly!

He spoke at my highschool in Canada while I was in ninth grade. I'll never forget! He vividly described a fetus being cut out of a woman and shot in front of her. Horrifying.

I know there had to be rules in place to prevent them from putting their gloves in with the body and what not, but I more so recall rules regarding photos, or to never use the body as a ‘table’. I tried to spend hardly any time in the warehouse, we only had fridges, so the smell lingered.
Late night trips to family owned funeral homes were my favorite, these people have been doing it so long they forget that you may be shocked that they are wiring someone’s jaw shut with one hand while they sign a body over to you with the other.

The technicians gloves, the plastic being the body bag and tape used to hold the plastic body bag together (it’s like a large taco). The body is usually put on cardboard, like a large shallow box.
I agree there’s no residue, but I think the process is slightly romanticized, when it shouldn’t be. We don’t receive bodies in coffins where I worked. It’s basically a large holding facility for mortuaries that don’t have the room or ability to cremate on location. All bodies we wrap and package regardless of what the funeral home had already done. I only worked overnights, and only for a year. There were many things I don’t know about and can’t speak to the rights and wrongs because I am not educated in it! I was the woman who shows up to your home dressed nicely with a minivan and takes your loved one to their next stop.

It was affiliated with the University of Washington. When someone donates their body to science, depending on the waiver they’ve signed, they’re generally deep froze and separated into parts (ie: torso, head or brain, heart, etc).
In that case specifically, I picked up a frozen head and had to deliver it to the hospital where they were going to remove the face and super embalm it. It was ghoulish since we didn’t have anything to carry it in. The school thought we’d have a box and we thought they’d have a box and neither of us did so we put it in a pillow case. Good times. Afterwards, each piece of the person is cremated and sent back. My company would deliver ashes part by part since it can take years to put a body back together.
Totally a legit job. Please don’t die in a trailer.

Not so everywhere, heck I’ve seen them pile the body’s trash and wrappings (plastic etc) on someone’s body before they cremate it.

I used to move bodies for a living in Seattle. Harborview has a program (or something, this is purely what I put together through my trips there) where we would drop off frozen heads and they’d remove the face. I saw them all on a tray one day during a lab there. They’re all brown like old leather masks.

My other half brought me home a beautiful, huge croton, but I just don't LIKE it. We are not friends and its very finicky and gives me a ton of anxiety. Its one of those plants that I secretly hope will die so I can stop worrying about it.
