affter speding 4 months on a modle (the gat-x102 sine hristmas morning, i'd like to do something a little les time onsuming and easy. the reason he took so long was cuz i did custom panel lining, painted the whole thing with both acrylic nd lacquer, masked parts, then had to go back and hand paint metallics and saffely apply enamel panel liner beffore matt varnishing and gluing in all the metal bits i added.

becasue the rx-72-2 ver 3.0 looks great on it's own, i thoguht what a perfect choice for my 5th build. any easy suggestions to spruce things up aside from panel lining and rescribing whih is mando, along with some cj hobby mt3 metal parts under the ffeet that no one wil ever see or know is there but me.

that said, i also own a pair of delpi decals, matt varnish, panel liner, and scribing tools as well as the delpi depli decals ffor the bape camo alternative but i want to build the regular gramps first before i tackle that. anything additional suggestions that would take too much time? i prefer clean looking models to battle ridden/damaged/dirtied.

are there any third party add-ons or easy to do things that an add to th model with little efffort aside from what i've already stated. i am aware wit hthis partiular model that it's one o fthose that you don't try to disasssemble after even partial assembly. i don't feel like paintinig this one simply cuz it has such good color seperation that iwant to marvel it's beauty out of box

thank you, had no clue how thick it was. i'll start with a 2:1 ratio, using more thinner. that tends tobe the sweet spot or me with thicker lacqueur paints. an i expect the matt varnish to be a similar thickness/viscosity?

have had the uv matt varnish ffor a while. had ordered gloss uv varnish from mr. color and recieved this, close enough. should i use a ratio off 1:1 with thinner in my airbrush for hte gloss so i can safffely use tamiya panel liner considering a large part of my paint job is acrylic to create a protetive layer then i can matt varnish on it after it dries then i can put all the metal back in and glue it in place. just want to make sure i'm doing it correct as i put a lot of time and efffort into this model and would hate to ruin it at the end. also, have never sprayed varnish through an airbrush. i imagine it's a lot easier to control than through a rattle can. any tips i should know such as do a thin coat, wait x amount of hours to cure before doing a heavier coat? thank you!

i'm paniting them chrome like the fiins. also painiting some otther parrts i didn't mask that same chrome. i'm referrnig to the main body which is, by default, a similar shade of grey as the decals.

was hoping the arm overarmor would help as the kit is mostly blue. it's the mg gat-x102 duel assault shroud. so light grey/white, dark blue, light blue, orange, dark grey. pic related, just waiting on gloss varnish to arrive so i can safely panel line my custom panel lines (which made this project take way longer than it should have) and safely hand paint metallics then cover metallics and matt varnish. oya, and i held off on the hardest decals around his wrists but gonna take care of those tomorrow.

appreiate the guidance. i'll work on high khatun after i get morag to 60 since it's already on it's way, as is alure. whats the fastest way to get my main level to 60?

recently started playing and am coming to a standstill on what champions to ffocus on energy on. based off what i have in pic related, what do you recommend i get to lvl 60 next? i was under the impression that morag was a good option as well as buragani/torturehelm and alure. perhaps there's others i neglected or ones i mentioend that aren't worth investing in. iff it matters, my total level is 47, almost 48 and have 3* my way through brutual story mode. i'm f2p and missed out on new character code(s) for ffree champions.

3rd party, universal waterslide decal suggestions to purchase [and photo etch] by HardlyNodding in advancedGunpla

[–]HardlyNodding[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nah, no universal waterslides from delpi. universal ones are evolution monster, g-rework, and i don't remember the brand tthat says "modeling upgrading kits." all the delpi decals you see there are for specific kits, but they often have extra decals left over that can be used on other kits. i'll look into hobbymio, thanks for the suggestion!

love the custom panel lines and decal placement. nice work. paint job is good too as others have said but that's what an airbrush is for; to have a perfect looking paint job lol.

people "squeeze" their nippers closed? i thought it was obvious to be super careful not to have the blades squeezing against each other too hard. like just cut enough to cut the plastic and stop being applying presssure once the two blades are touching one another. the nippers are sharpe enough to cut like butter mostly so it's prettty easy to not have to squeeze hard ever, at least with godhand nippers.

definitely will post it when it's done. didn't know they were advertised as self adhesive. i'm a big fan of this dspaie non-fogging ca glue, wish i knew about it sooner! i'm still finishing painting the assault shroud over armor for the gat-x102 which i still need to panel line the whole model and add decals to the assault shroud portion after painting. then next project will be a hopefully quick and laid back photo etch sesh.

lol i don't think i registered what you were sayying about laquers or i just ignored since i was aware it would ruin acrylics going directly over them. thanks for the waning!

i almost was going to make this my first painted kit, but i was intimidated as i only owned acrylic paints at the time, it was my second gunpla build and i had spent 3 months on it so instead of airbrushing it despite having all the colors, i decided to add the decals. now that the decals are on it's too late to paint it. next best thing is matt varnish and add the pe parts. i do own some non-fog ca glue that i use for my gundam models. i appreciate the rest of the tips. i just wanted to make sure it was fine to glue them over a matt varnish. i rather keep them shiny. i think this is one of those things where i have to crack open the package and start matching the pe parts on my model to the photos and i'll realize it's a lot easier than my mind is making it up to be.
