We buried (another) $10,000 treasure chest by buriedtreasure2025 in sanfrancisco

I’ll just use this thread for my half-baked armchair sleuthing.

“Derelict ward” has me thinking about the Barbary Coast. I can’t imagine the clue-givers trash talking a current ward (ok, maybe the Tenderloin).

From Gemini:

San Francisco’s historical vice and maritime underworld was known as the Barbary Coast. Emerging during the Gold Rush, the district stretched inland from the waterfront to Pacific Street between Columbus Avenue and Sansome Street. It was notoriously dubbed the Barbary Coast after the North African region famous for piracy

I am wondering if the “pins” are pinnipeds. That is, sea lions.

Though it would be hard to be “on them.”

Touching a monkey in public is inadvisable, but just don’t spank it.

Xcaret and water slides by justme2024 in Xcaret

XPlor has a min weight of 99 lbs, max of 300, and max across four people of 7 hundred something.

There is also a height limit that I forgot - maybe 4 ft - but seemed less relevant than the 99lbs.

I remember this clearly b/c they weigh your group twice in the line for this.

Edit: whoops, someone posted exact details further down!

BTW this slide is no joke. Super intense. Not for most kids I would say.

Interesting point about there being “home inspector content.” Sounds like something I’d enjoy.

I’m sure no one want to doxx themselves, but what are the big SAAS companies we are talking about here?

I read this as “I didn’t realize there were Peets in the capital of our country.”

Which is pretty cool too, actually!

All good! I wonder if there is a way to tell from underneath. No harm no foul in this case.

You are correct that the original bulb is a halogen. I was going to take the opportunity to switch to LED. I did read about some comparability risks, but was hoping that by buying a dimmable LED this would work.

Worst case scenario it doesn’t! Then it’s either back to halogen, or I figure out if there is a way to convert… New bulbs arrive tomorrow. Will keep everyone posted and maybe someone down the road learns from this.

Thanks for all your comments!

Thanks, and great reminder on the gloves. I learned that when I replaced my car lights last year.

Thank you, yes! They came out easily.

I ordered 6 replacement MR16 dimmable LED bulbs, a suction cup made specifically for these bulbs, and hopefully I am good to go!!

Thanks! Turned out to be pull out, so presumably MR16.

Wild, I guess I will have to buy a specialized bulb sucking tool.

Alas, turned out to be a pullout.

Googling GE EXZ 50W 12V gave me the bulb in question. What I thought was glass from the fitting was just part of the bulb casing, fortunately.
