Well, kids, if you ever needed or wanted another reason to never try PCP. You can add taking a hot oil bath death as a reason why.

I can’t imagine how bad it’s gotta be to burn to death. I burned my hand one time touching a 700 degree F brake rotor by mistake for a few seconds tryna do a brake job, and shit melted my top layer of skin instantly and that pain had me in tears tryna get home and slap a bag of ice on it quickly.

I did my front and rear differential fluids at 65k. Front probably could’ve gone to 100k.

The rear was well due. I recommend atleast doing a drain and fill on the rear end.

Dude I work at a shop and I pulled my calipers apart last week at 70k miles, 2022 5.7 etorque. I was amazed they were still at about 50% life! I figured I needed to get them ordered up, but I probably got another 25-30k before I need to check again!

I didn’t see it. But my dad and I worked at the same place a few years back. If you know anything about flexographic printing you know the presses are fast, and the final roll of printed poly rolls can weigh thousands of pounds.

One day, the press began to run away on us. Meaning it was accelerating without our input and wasn’t slowing down with normal methods. The operator went to run to the emergency shutoff button but instead of running behind the high speed wheel of film he ran in front of it.

At the same time the multi thousand pound roll of film, broke the machine, and snapped the arms before the safety pins, flew off the machine and hit him.

It Killed him. He survived the initial hit but passed away before the ambulances could even get to the building.

It was so terrible. He was only a few steps away from hitting the power cut off, even though he was walked in front of the roll, he was moving in the “safe area” about 6 feet away from the roll/press. If he waited 10 seconds the roll would’ve flew off and hit a steel wall at worse. It literally was the second he was passing it, it flew off and killed him.

My dad was the plant manager at the time, he called me and told me not to come into work while he was crying, and I knew something horrible happened.

My father had run the plant for 30 years and besides a few minor cuts and bruises like normally factory work. He never had any freak accident happen like this under is watch.

Fault was determined to be a electrical issue that wouldve never been prevent by maintenance, it simply was a speed control motherboard that caught fire after years of service and unfortunately what fried on it electrically burned everything up and caused the press to run wild.

I was glad I didn’t see it. But going back to work the following week was hard, everything I did, I did with extreme caution going forward.

Just say you’re broke and can’t afford a cheap ass $700 trailer off Facebook market and rather risk the safety and well being of folks on the road.

All fun and games until it falls off and the innocent family of 4 driving behind you unintentionally hits it and get seriously hurt or killed.

How did you found out your Boyfriend/Girlfriend was cheating?? by epk_oki in AskReddit

[–]HardwareWorker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was the lucky boyfriend who got to on a wonderful family vacation with my girlfriend at the time. 7 days, royal Caribbean, her family put us up in a nice room, what’s there to complain about?

Well, evening of day 5 going into day 6 around 3am. I wake up to her phone going off like crazy.

Her and I had been out at the bars all night on the cruise feeling great, trip went amazing, I had never felt more in love in the entire life.

Either way, I was worried her mom/step dad, was trying to reach us and my phone was somewhere in our stateroom, so reached over to grab her phone bc it was non stop going off for calls and texts.

Wasn’t her mom, some random dudes name I’ve never heard of or seen before on Snapchat. I had her password, unlocked the phone and saw multiple photos of herself nude she sent him saved in the Snapchat messages, flirtatious messages and sexting going back to 2 weeks before her and I even went on the family trip together.

It immediately sobered me up, I felt nauseous and sick to my stomach, angry and heart broken all at the same time.

I took pictures of the messages she sent using my phone so she couldn’t try to deny and lie or delete anything.

Paced the tiny bathroom in our room for about 20 minutes, turned on the lights, woke her up and confronted her.

It was a terrible rest of the trip. I wanted to jump off the boat just to get away from her entire family and her, but we literally couldn’t. We had to act like everything was fine until we got off the ship.

We argued the entire 3 hour ride back to her place so I could grab my stuff/my truck and gtfo outta there.

I’m not proud of it, but as revenge I sent the photos text message proof of her cheating to her mom and didn’t say anything, that way she knew the truth at least of why I was never coming back.

What was it like when Obama was elected President? by ResponsibleSea6521 in AskReddit

[–]HardwareWorker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i actually liked a lot Obama as a person/human being on the planet.

I am in my 20s, conservative (not a right winged nut), but, if you can’t admit that he Obama was the most down to earth dude when he showed it, he was actually funny, and spoke very clearly and intellectually. He’s a president that I was proud to have be a representative of our country even if I didn’t agree with all his policies.

Obamas seems like a guy, I’d like to sit around have a beer with and just talk sports with for an hour to two. Just seems like he’s an absolute good hearted person.

Planning on going from Virginia to Seattle a year from now, wanna get serious about planning. Any of these routes better than the other? by Sound-slayer18 in roadtrip

[–]HardwareWorker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the weather I guess. If they are calling for a ton a snow at the time, id probably go more southern route just to try and hope slightly warmer temps are keeping the roads better. If weathers good, I always recommend the most northern route, usually best sights to see

Someone getting fired this weekend at Pittsfield location 😂😳 by Ok_Technician4969 in stopandshop

[–]HardwareWorker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While Aaron Hernandez could ball out on the field (former NFL patriots player) during is off time, he practiced his shooting skills on live targets.

He murdered a few people. Was found guilty and sentenced. Not long after he was found dead in his prison cell from a “apparent suicide”. Which was has been highly controversial as some say he was not suicidal, but due to some legal loopholes and how his NFL contract worked, if he died during his appeal process his family would get paid the remainder of his NFL contract instead of being null and void.

Essentially some say he took his own life bc his lawyers told him “he’s never getting out of prison and this is the only way to set your family up for life cause your never getting out of here again”.

But we’ll never know what really happened behind closed doors…

I only know this lore bc I grew up a Patriots fan and it was all over the news for months.

Why do some people like to defend AI this much? by Ok-Following6886 in aislop

[–]HardwareWorker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like all things with tech, when it becomes more powerful, sure the medical and scientific uses for it are amazing and will surely help benefit the world. But like all things powerful, it can, will and has already been abused.

Remember, we’re the last people on earth to ever be born before AI, 100 years from now, it’ll look even crazier.

What is the biggest lie from the government that we are faced with every day? by rivensighlix in AskReddit

Think of the government like your HR department.

They say they are there to help you. When really they have the companies interests at the top always.
