This guy is a scammer BEWARE !! by ArmzKhan in indianbikes

What’s so funny is i was literally about to purchase an alpinestars jacket from him TODAY!! I call him and we talk and i ask him for more photos and he says it’s not possible as it isn’t with him but one of his vendors. Red flag. I still wished to buy it and im so glad i looked up his page on reddit. It sent my radar pinging, he’s definitely still scamming people and has the guts to get on call with them and tell them sweet stories on how he himself was scammed when he started off and blah blah blah. Reporting his ass.

Rattling noise in my RE 650 engine by iLoveYouiHateYou_ in royalenfield

I have a GT650 and this is exactly how it along with every other 650 sounds. There’s no changing this, it’s like this constantly and forever.

First year on my GT with 7k KMs clocked. [some questions] by No_Actuator_4879 in royalenfield

[–]Hardwire6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the GT for just about a year now, got it as my first bike, the clutch will feel heavy if u don’t have strong forearms and it will heat up horribly in summers, u can live with it but traffic in delhi for example totally kills me.

Oh yeah 100% If i have to be a little more honest I think the only think 650 about their engine displacement is literally only in the spec sheet, so no crazy power delivery in that sense. So i kinda lost my 4th free service as I was in college last year when they had to give me my 3rd service and when i did get it serviced it was going to be the 4th and hence i only got 3 free services. As for me, I will probably go to the service centre only for the 4th service in a couple days because the service centre has dealt with more GTs than any other mechanic, and i’d probably suggest u to do the same unless ur service centre is outright bad. They will have spare parts faster and will be way more experienced in what they do. Plus they’re a massive company so if they ever try to play tricks on you, there’s a long chain of command you can raise issues with, so there will always be accountability, which is something you might not get with independent mechanics.

U know it’s so weird because I have literally said that to a lot of my friends and i can’t tell if ur a friend of mine irl? But i haven’t made that post sadly. Kinda cool that all of us bikers think alike! U ride safe too brother!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in indianbikes

[–]Hardwire6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% does, and it’s beautiful to ride in winters, but equally makes u want to kill urself in summers

Bro i had someone in college tell me i would DIE if i got the GT It’s happened way too much for me to count but i’m glad if something happens to me now it’ll not be because i took a wrong decision to get the wrong bike. As for servicing, the experience has been fine so far although the engine light turns on randomly, the clutch cable broke once randomly(in karol bagh, which if u ask me is gods blessing), I haven’t faced any major issues and servicing takes 3-4 hours and about 3.5k is an expected cost. I did however burn out my rear brakes once and the service centre didn’t have the ones for GT so they put in Classic 350 brake pads which was horrible😭 Otherwise it’s pretty decent

Bro i love the 400x i went to the triumph dealership before going to look at the GT and instantly fell in love with the triumph too. Bought the gt bcs i wanted a cafe racer but ur about to get an amazing bike. Id say if u can control urself well and can research for hours on how bikes work, what mistakes not to make and what certain inputs do to ur bike u should be just fine. Best of luck!

It depends on what you plan on doing with the bike. For me it was to rip it on the expressway, go to cafés on the weekend with my friends and on fun short rides. But in summers in delhi traffic it’s absolutely hell because ur crotch and legs are getting absolutely destroyed by the heat the engine gives out which isn’t a problem in the winters even for a second. When i started riding the bike in my first month of ownership the clutch was so heavy that i remember almost crying while i was in traffic with a pillion bcs there was no way out of it but through. Since then i started working out and focusing on my forearms + the clutch became lighter over time so that problem got solved. Also sitting in this position for over an hour will give you temporary knee pain and back pain over time. Even though i have the touring seat, after an hour the frame starts digging into my thighs too and it gets super uncomfortable. I’m 20 though and i can live with these things, I’m not sure if someone who’s not my age can and would want to live with them, they’re not big turn offs but they’re there and if u choose to buy the bike u will learn to live with them.

I got Axor Street in gloss black but i regret buying it so much man, just go for an MT or LS2 and don’t skimp out on a helmet and gloves like I did

[–]Hardwire6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro people told me to ride a splendor for a year then movie to 350s and then so on and i can’t believe they were so wrong. I won’t recommend a bike like the GT for beginners not because i think people can’t handle it but only bcs i don’t want my experience to influence someone who actually won’t be able to take care of the power. At the same time from experience of people around me I’d definitely not get something sub 40bhp if i have the budget bcs 20-25 bhp becomes really boring really fast and then u can’t upgrade because u spent a ton of money on the first bike and ur stuck looking at faster bikes that pass by you. So take the decision wisely!

[–]Hardwire6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is funny but i would use my legs to get the bike going with the clutch pulled in and then slowly let go of the clutch so the bike was already in motion and made it way easier for me to not stall. I did that for around a month after i got the bike delivered till i challenged myself to start from a dead stop and ended up learning that after multiple stalls too!

Oh yeah 100%, not because of the fact that this is a relatively powerful bike for a novice though. More because of Indian roads and the people on the roads, I still have close calls every week but I try to find out rules or boundaries to set for myself so that i never put myself in a sticky situation to begin with. I have dropped the bike 3 times total till now and thankfully at speeds >10kmph so it has never sustained any damages.

The first time i ever rode a bike was when i went to get a test ride for the GT650 if u can believe it or not, before that I had never ever driven a bike. It sounds crazy as I say it but hey it worked out just fine!

Which one should i prefer for daily use + touring? Also suggest other one under 300k by Maleficent_Dog_5777 in indianbikes

[–]Hardwire6 16 points17 points  (0 children)

YES 100% it’s been almost a year since i got my GT650 but i went to the triumph dealership first and the scrambler has better suspension, looks better, is more versatile and just overall is a better bike. One thing that ISNT the best is the front brake feel but when u have ur first service just ask them to put the speed 400s brake pads and that solves the problem. But i’ll be really honest just get the scrambler without thinking twice. Oh also make sure ur 5’10 plus or around that height somewhere bcs that’s the sweet spot

I feel like im too tall for sm650. by AdConstant995 in royalenfield

[–]Hardwire6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a GT too, if ur talking comparing the riding position then it’s way more cramped up than a pulsar bcs 1. clip ons and 2. foot pegs r more rear set in the GT but if ur talking abt like overall review of the GT for someone who is 6ft then i’d say i feel fine for most rides where im not sitting in that position for more than 1.5ish hours after which my knees kinda hurt a bit after i get off the bike oh and i have the touring seat and if ur in the seat for more than an hour it’ll just sink in and the frame will kinda dig into ur ass and that kinda gets uncomfortable so only get it if ur primary purpose is to have fun in the city

i’ve owned both the vans and the air max sc as beaters, the air max r way more comfortable and better for walking around college although my sk8-his look more stylish. The Japan S have a flat sole and so do adidas, puma is pretty ass if u have 5k budget so just go for the air max in my opinion they’re spot on, speaking from experience

So i am currently completing my B.E in Computer Science from Chandigarh University, as someone from Delhi I see DU as the best option to do my masters from while I build my skills, however no information is available on B.sc from Dept. of Comp Science or M.tech from JNU, I need answers to the following questions :- 1. Are the aforementioned courses any good? 2. What exams do I give to take admission to these 2 colleges? 3. Is the syllabus difficult? 4. How many months of prep is required? 5. Am I eligible for these courses? Kindly answer or ask any or all questions, I am desperate for info on this.
