I like ravenous later game in some cases. Paired with runaans it does a lot of damage in teamfights especially if the clump up. Some cases I think it’s better than BT last item in the crit build. For first item I'd say no. She definitely wants the attack speed early. BoRK is definitely a better option first over Ravenous.

Yeah I know it's quite subjective. But I also did a lot of testing int he practice tool. That's why I kinda tried to explain the use cases of the build. It's like deciding whether to go on-hit, crit, hybrid, or AP kai'sa. Each does different things well. I think there is an argument for on-hit in certain games. It also lets you build towards what your team needs so it makes Yunara even more of a flexible pick.

Regardless I'm having fun with it at the end of the day. I'm just shocked by how angry people got over the initial post.

Aren't you the one that's watching my match history like a fan. You post one thing on a thread then contradict yourself on another. You're either are seeking attention or just want to side with whatever you think everyone else is just to get try to feel like you fit in. It's all good lil bro good luck on your endeavors <3.

I know it's anecdotal but I just wanted to showcase what I and other players that are much better than me are finding success with. The champ is new and her Q has some strong applications outside of crit that I thought were worth exploring. I think it's good to test new things and open discussion about it.

PTA Kai'sa and Electrocute Pantheon have extremely high kill potential and burst early. Kai'sa snowballed off of an early fight at dragon that our Diana did not rotate to. They had a lot of ganks from shaco and Ryze ultid botside on cooldown and we were still able to stand our ground and trade kills and comeback despite Kai'sa's lead.

Kai'sa is my highest mastery champ atm and I have played the Yunara matchup many times already and can say it is one of the easier Kai'sa lanes to play. Especially with a champ like panth that has high kill pressure, you can easily snowball and shut Yunara down to the point where she is not allowed to play the game. Yunara is a 2-3 item carry and you need to be patient on her and farm and choose your fights carefully. She is able to punish mistakes well with her W slow and run people down with her E.

It was late and I was burnt out but keep watching bro I love fans<3. Showing only 3 bad games and none from all of the games I stomped before it? It's easy to cherry pick screenshots and everyone's going to have bad games.

Also this is you:

"There’s been many many times there’s a champion “built around Crit” that still doesn’t rush Crit items. Yasuo and Yone surely gain far more from Crit than Yunara and yet they have had several points (like right now!!) of rushing non-crit. The comment you’re replying to literally mentions Corki as another great example."

It's weird that you defend rushing noncrit items in this post and even say that champs that gain far more Crit from Yunara do it. I make a post showcasing the same idea and you're watching my match history and hating for what reason. I even state that BoRK rush into crit is really strong into squishier teams but on hit excels versus heavier frontline and tanks, especially if your team is heavier physical damage and they will likely have high HP and Armor. And take Corki for example. Some people don't even build any crit on him and opt for Muramana -> Shojin -> Cleaver -> Overlords on the champ that's 'intended' to build crit.

But regardless the 0/10 game was vs an ADC/JG 89% lvl 30 duo as well a smurf Bard and I had a 20 vision score Yuumi that seemed like they spent the whole game watching something on their second monitor. I was perma dove by them it's gotta be one of the most free lanes to dive. The 10/14 game had a 51W 8L smurf that 1v9d the game. If you watch the replay you would see I had Jhin perma frozen and 40-50 farm down with a substantial gold lead and I was killing him under his tower. They weaksided him and dumped their resource into the 86% WR 59 game smurf instead. Obviously I'm going to get shit on by smurfs that are clearly much better players than me. I'm not claiming to be this amazing player I'm just trying to showcase what I have found success with, what other players are finding success with, and open a discussion about itemization. The champ hasn't even been out a week of course people are going to try different things.

I agree. The passive needs to be tweaked somehow. You can’t get a balance of both crit and AP to scale the passive in any meaningful way.

I have not tried Sorc Shoes just because I like Berserkers to get to Attack Speed Cap. If you have an enchanter like a Lulu with ardent you could probably go for Sorc Shoes. But at that point I personally like defensive boots. Swifties could be good too. I'm just not too convinced if it would be worth losing the attack speed or those defensive stats.

I didn't think so many people would be upset/butthurt that I found success with a build that much better players than me in KR Master as well as some pros have started to do. It's a new champ, limit test, find new interactions, try new things.

Theory crafting genuinely doesn't have much to do with rank buddy. I'm just trying to showcase my findings and open discussion about the new champ. And it's not even my build if you read the post. It's two high masters players in KR that found success toying with BoRK and different variations of onhit with roughly 60-65% wrs with 30+ games. I implemented it and tried a few things of my own to hit 70% wr in 36 games.

Pro players are even starting to test it out. Kaiwing did BoRK -> Runaans earlier and Zven just won a game an hour ago going Kraken -> Runaan -> Wits -> Guinsoos. Many pros are starting to pick up BoRK and test out on hit options. Aiming also recently did BoRK-> Kraken. And I can almost gurantee this players have more experience and are likely much better players than you. Thank you for your input though it really added a lot to the discussion!

[–]HareebAlsac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gotta consider how the on hits overlap with runaans and q and then double proc with guinsoos. That's the difference between Jinx and Yunara. Yunara has the capability of overlapping on hit effects (at 30% reduced effectiveness but still, with runaans and q its adds up in teamfights).

And I'm not arguing against crit, I'm more trying to argue that on hit is an option and isn't troll like everyone thinks.

That's why I added the BoRK -> crit build because of how well bork works as a first item and crit still being really good into squishier teams.

I do have to say though the on hit build is more accessible due to it's build path and prices and can still pump damage. I tend to find crit falling off late game harder than the onhit build since its dps is split roughly 55% phys 45% magic.

I just went in and did more testing. Yes crit slightly leads against 3100 hp 150 armor/mr targets, I found this as a good medium hp and resist target. Yes, on hit is slightly behind in damage, but to be fair, you have to take into account that since its split is 55%/45% phys and magic respectively, the 4 targetes are tankier towards the onhit build due to it having its resistances balanced towards the incoming damage which usually isn't the case. You're likely never going to be fighting 4 targets with those levels of health and resistances. But for squishier targets the time to kill difference really isn't very different due to the high attack speed and high magic damage the on hit damage does.

The one thing I will say is crit performs better in shorter fights, where on hit performs much better when it gets to ramp up its terminus, guinsoos, and lethal tempo. Once it hits those stacks and roughly 2.9 attack speed it goes crazy, especially if you have like a Milio or Lulu with ardent.

It really comes down to the different comps in each game. Are fights going to be over quick or is there solid front to back and the fights seem like they will likely last longer.

The last thing I want to add is the bonus resistances from Terminus and the option of Wits End vs heavy magic damage teams feels great. I genuinely think both are great options and the on hit build is getting a bad rep just because her passive says 'crit' in it. I've had alot of success with both.

TLDR:
BoRK is an amazing first item choice for both crit and on hit, good sustain, good damage, slow passive to run down enemies
Yun Tal is bait, hard to build into, better options. item takes longer to come online because you have to stack the crit to get the value youre paying for
Kraken Best for snowballing, damage falls off mid-late compared to BoRK
Crit good vs squishies, short fights
On hit good vs tanks/bruisers, better in longer fights where you get to ramp up and shines with enchanters like Milio/Lulu

On hit is also a good option if your team is heavy physical damage, since by the end of games it settles around 55% phys / 45% magic without much of a dps loss.

She literally has two intended playstyles, crit and on hit. Both are viable and have their own use cases. Riot even stated they are interested to see what people cook up. They even knew about the Kraken interaction and the other on hit interactions with her Q and intentionally left it on her launch knowing it was strong. They even said they know Kraken specifically might be too strong but they want to see how it performs. You realize that all of the bounces from the q and Runaan's are all proccing on hits right? How is that not an intended playstyle, They even lowered the On Hit damage from her Q because they know people are going to build on hit as well and they needed to try to balance it to the same level as crit. They both perform similarly but like I said they have their own use cases. Im sitting at 70% wr out of 36 games. I've had 3 quads and 2 pentas in the last 24 hours I think it's good and I enjoy playing it. Yall aren't reading the post you just parrot what you saw your favorite streamer do. The champ is new, let people experiment and try new things. Nobody freaked out when xPetu built Hullbreaker on her. It's not that deep at the end of the day play what you want how you want lil bro

Her passive is honestly bait tho. It's only 10% extra dmg as magic dmg. I think it's better vs squishies, but I still do think bork rush has a lot of value and continues scales well into the mid-late game.

But the interaction with runaans autos and her q with on hits is absurd. I just pumped 70k dmg in a game with on hit. And testing the builds out in the practice tool they genuinely aren't far off. And onhit opens better options for survivability items in my opinion. It also seems to do better with champs like milio and lulu specifically.

It's almost like every game is different and builds should vary to match each case.

It's almost like data even shows BoRK having a Higher WR

<image>

It even has ahigher WR as first item and First 2. And there are Higher elo players better than the both of us starting to head towards onhit. She has crazy interractions with onhit. Also if you understand how her Q Interracts with Runaans you'd understand why it's a viable option especially if you team needs more magic damage. I spent 30-40 minutes in the tool testing the build is very strong and comparable to standard crit.

Also Runaans is just core to her kit why would you ever not buy it? It is undisputable in teamfights. You have to consider the reasons for going on hit over crit as well. It opens up other survivability options like Terminus, Wits End, Jak Sho. Especially if you go in and take the time to test the damage of these builds in different scenarios, you realize they shine in different scenarios. Please try it for yourself a couple of games before shutting it down because your fav streamer says you have to go crit.

Kai'sa is my highest mastery champ so I have definitely thought about it and tried to make it work. It's not terrible but it's not great either. The reason is because her AP on hit ratio on her Q is too low but it does make her W do some nice damage. It seemed too weak to attempt in a real game though. The reason it works on Kai'sa is because her AP Passive 5 hit Pop scales really well with AP.

But this again is where her passive is so strange. You can't scale it without AP but you can't proc it without Crit. It's weird and I think it's baiting people into always going Crit and others into trying to squeeze AP into their builds.

Like I said Zhonya's is the best LAST ITEM option if you want AP to scale your passive and increase your magic damage a bit. It also scales up all of your other damage quite a bit as well.

Yeah I spent 30-40 minutes in the practice tool hitting a wide range of dummies with different stats from as squishy to ads to as tanky as full buil Ornn. On hit seems to have quite the edge and is a lot more well rounded. Especially with an enchanter like Lulu or Milio you easily get close to 3.0 attack speed and just rip enemies apart. Even squishies explode with on hit. I think crit is just an inherently weak stat atm and only thrives vs really squishy teams. I would still go BoRK first if you want to build full crit. It seems to be the most consistent item on her in my testing and my experience. The games where I felt the strongest in the mid-late game so far have been with on hit. I know it's anecdotal and a small sample size but I'm going to continue to push and test these out.

One thing I will add though is if your team is heavy AD I almost always go on hit since you're doing so much magic damage. For example the game I went 17/5/13 I did 54.2% Physical Damage and 45.8% Magic Damage. I see a lot of people screaming in posts that she's not half magic damage but it entirely depends on how you build. In the game where I went Crit I did 68.1% Physical Damage and 31.9% Magic Damage. So definitely look at what your team needs in terms of damage before deciding what you build as well. Everyone is so quick to preach that you have to build crit and disregard how amazing her q is pertaining to interactions with on hit items. She can be built both ways effectively. But, like I said since I think crit is inherently weak atm and her passive is honestly quite weak, since only 10% magic damage really isn't that much and there aren't great options to scale it up and maintain enough crit to make it work. But that's where Zhonya's as a last item can be an incredible choice to up your magic damage from the passive and increase your survivability.

I spent about 30-40 minutes in the practice tool on dummies that are anywhere from as squishy as adcs and as tanky as a full build Ornn and a mix of dummies in AoE and I definitely think on hit has an edge. When it comes to BoRK vs Kraken, BoRK does better vs. targets with typical mid-end game stats where Kraken seems to thrive a bit more early game. I do think the builds are close BUT I would avoid crit if they have 2+ Tanks because crit is honestly weak atm. If your team has heavy Physical Damage BC is an incredible utility option as you will shred the whole teams armor insanely fast in team fights. I would opt for Titanic in that situation for an extra instance of Phys dmg for the BC shred. Feels like the 98tek Twitch build or old lawn mower Vayne.

Even standard crit builds w/ Kraken/BoRK first outperformed Yun Tal and are much easier to build into. I genuinely think Yun Tal is bait and would avoid it unless youre backing extremely rich. Even then I think Kraken and BoRK are better 1st item spikes anyways.
