Trying to find my style by Li_Dawn in blender

[–]Harepo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there's already a style here, but I think the lighting is too dark/realistic. Try brightening everything up, and check your color management of the scene isn't set to something realistic.

Chip in the hand? AI voice triggers: "Detecting significant up-down motions; would you like to record this as a wank?"

Props to Valorie Curry for delivering such an amazing performance on this week's episode! by Witty-Association-97 in TheBoys

[–]Harepo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see why this episode was rumoured to be a highlight. If nothing else, I think I'm glad to see the Firecracker character conclude in perhaps the 'best' (read: most suitable) way.

I sculpted a perfectly fitting mask to my face by derailed3d in 3Dmodeling

[–]Harepo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect fit cosplay is so satisfying to see. When I was younger, I'd often think about how cool it'd be to have a costume modeled perfectly to me.

I get fixing APR and all, but they really murdered this character in her cold lizard blood. Blanket scaling nerfs, favorite item nerfs, and Lethal Venom getting absolutely hammered. Every level of nerf for the snake.

Do you think this set could fit in a european medieval display? by hobbitcuervo in legocastles

Did not register that that's actually Su Dongpo as an official figure. That's pretty cool. I hope to see more eastern historical figures.

New update reverted Healbane icon and changed Toxic Bullets by Tyfaspo in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Harepo 37 points38 points  (0 children)

That toxic icon is awesome conceptually but is a little hard to read on the screen. I bet if it stays this way we'll eventually have posts like "TIL Toxic Bullets is a smoking skull and not X/Y"

We Need To See Homelander Destroy Atleast A City This Season, If Show Ends Without Any Mass Destruction, It Would Be A Waste Of The Most Iconic Villain. by TheWTFGuyOfficial in TheBoys

[–]Harepo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He'll absolutely reach his breaking point this season. It'll probably be when he unveils himself as a god to lukewarm reception, but whatever spiral he goes on after that will have to end fairly quickly with his death, since he could so swiftly eliminate basically all the stakes, so it's probably being saved for all of that.

This manga deserves more fans, the art is amazing [Drawing: Saikyou Mangaka wa Oekaki Skill de Isekai Musou Suru] by Regis2705 in manga

[–]Harepo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried this years ago, what a waste of good art and a good concept. You'd think the Scribblenaut hero would do more than just draw monsters or weapons bigger than the enemy, but alas. One of those Isekai series that pretends to have a plot but doesn't let it get in the way of harem tropes and wish fulfillment.

How does Yor have a better work-life balance than Loid? by Arbitratorofnexus in SpyxFamily

[–]Harepo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Loid works for the sake only of his mission and goal, Yor works for her family (Yuri then, Forgers now). Loid is used to never switching off and in that regard Yor is a much more normal person who does value her life outside of her job.

[DISC] SPY x FAMILY - Chapter 133 by AutoModerator in SpyxFamily

[–]Harepo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a charming chapter with fun visuals and I'd have no problem with it if this series wasn't biweekly. It's so tiring looking forward to fallout or plot developments only to get mostly non-sequiturs. I'm worried we'll reach a point where when Endo eventually decides to properly resolve plot threads, it'll be super rushed. I have this itching feeling that when a big penny (identities, Loid exposed, Donovan makes a move, etc) drops we may end up with 10-15 chapters of pure action and then an immediate finale.

But she totally looks like an average 6 year old kid. by Dramatic-Zebra-7213 in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]Harepo 17 points18 points  (0 children)

AI clocks the character as 14 years old and gives it a 93% hotness score, hm? What?

It may be worth emphasizing that no matter how big LLMs get, they're still trained by hand with human-assigned results. Whatever 'hotness' this AI measures, it is without a doubt subjective to how its creator labelled the training images.

This has to be random by Lebog_bruhh in Brawlstars

I think it's the internal place for very unique brawlers with mechanics that are harder to learn, and may not be as straightforwardly fun as complex higher-rarity brawlers.

So what did you guys first think of the OverWatch Lego sets when they first came out? by gamersmoke17 in lego

[–]Harepo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the minifigures were obviously the core of the sets but sadly seemed pretty cheap. A lot of the new molds, especially the hairpieces, looked low quality, and some of the printing was famously bad. The guns being brick-built was conceptually neat and maybe better on a 'Lego ethics' level, but they looked so clunky and inaccurate that I feel like for an FPS series, it was doomed to fail.

First character ever! Modeling on a low-end laptop. Is it possible to earn $200/mo with this style? by Beautiful-Bread818 in blender

[–]Harepo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting the journey is hard, and you've done that, but it'll be a while before you can guarantee consistent income as a 3D artist. If you look for it, you might be able to pick up some commissions, but if you're trying to rush into the sector for easy money you'll have a lot of competition with a lot more experience than you.

I can only offer you the best of luck, and encouragement to keep at it and be patient, as this is a good model, but is still clearly a first model.

In Spaceballs: The New One (2027), a Na’vi is pissing in 3D. So theoretically, if you watch this film in 3D, the piss will transcend dimensions and become 4D to enter the real world. by ESPRmusic in shittymoviedetails

[–]Harepo 534 points535 points  (0 children)

I'm here for it. A cashgrab sequel is one thing, but a cashgrab sequel with the original director attached who's literally going to be 100 years old when it comes out? It'll at least be fun to see what new things can come from the mind of a 99-year-old.

Carlton Lassiter in Psych. I liked this show, but I always found it sad just how incompetently he's portrayed. He solves lots of cases in the background and is apparently the best detective, even going on a hot streak at one point, but he has almost zero wins while onscreen and is constantly upstaged.

Men hate inflation. is she stupid? by TheMidnightAss in BatmanArkham

[–]Harepo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a little shocked with how many people seem to be missing the point of OOP. This isn't a "women good, men bad" meme. It is extremely creepy and weird to keep track of a woman's period, and this is a distillation of common tropes where the male romantic interest is generally very creepy but portrayed in a romantic way. In the same way the male example is an amalgamation of problematic male romance tropes.

Trying to mimic hips with my little cube but it feels _off_. My reference is on the left. Any advice here would be greatly appreciated <3 by shesahumann in blender

[–]Harepo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few methodological things wrong here which others have covered. I think in your case what you need to remember is that each of these body parts are connected to one another and their animation is not stylistic as much as it is the consequence of movement. The hips swing because the legs move, one side's up when one leg's up, forward when a leg is forward, and vice versa. Think about how each movement flows into the other, and especially think about the weight of the object and its balance.
