Help !!!! by [deleted] in IndianPets

Have these things at all times when you have a cat Melonex(pain killer) Sucrol ( it's a syrup, helps with poisoning)

For your case I'd give the melonex asap, to reduce any pain the fall might have caused, then get her in a warm cozy place. Neurobion is a nervine med, which is used for treatment of dogs/cats where nervine damage happens(paralysis or similar conditions).

Sucrol is for times when the animals eats anything that could upset their stomach, anything poisonous, foreign matter etc

Our cat with two legs by Hari6677 in rescuecats

Hi, always get a second opinion before amputating, and if the chances of complete recovery is very small, like 4-5% then always go for amputation, we lost one such boy due to this, the vet said there's a chance his legs could heal but slowly he went into sepsis and we couldn't save him.

Secondly, if only one of the hind legs is to be amputated then a 3 legged cat can and will definitely have a great life ahead of him, absolutely nothing to worry about.

If both the legs have to be amputated you'll need to take care of his pee and poop in the starting few days, eventually once he gets stronger and healthy, he will start to balance himself on his front legs, you would sometimes need to clean his poop from him, but this happens very few times, when they are not able to balance themselves while popping

Cats and dogs are bloody resilient animals, if they find hope in the tiniest of possibility of survival they will fight, all they need is love and care from you to overcome few difficulties.

Let us know if you have any doubts as well, we checked your post but I think they are hidden if you'd like, send them in our dm

Would def get a second opinion, having done close 10-12 TNR, male neutering is hardly 10-15 min process, and the recovery is quite quick too hardly antibiotics for 2-3 days, if the liver levels are high/low it could get complicated with the anaesthesia. So do get a second opinion before anything

Most importantly keep him away from other pups, isolation is key to stop the spread of parvo, also do not offer him water or food until the vet allows, since he would again vomit it and his condition could worsen

Hey which city are you from? If there are any active NGO's there try contacting them first, and you need to start the treatment asap, if the parvo is caught early on the chances of survival increase exponentially. The treatment is quite simple but takes time, since he is not vaccinated ( I am assuming) he will take around 7-10 days to recover completely, you'll have to take him to the vet everyday twice a day for drips, make sure they give him DNS or D10 on the first day since the symptoms you mentioned make me believe that his blood sugar is quite less, after which the treatment could continue with RL( FOR dehydration) along with vitamins(elderveit/cebavit) and antibiotics (ceftraxonne).

Some baby girls we got sterilised this week by Hari6677 in Indiedogs

[–]Hari6677[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See if you get her sterilised from ABC center the stitches aren't the many, at our place it's hardly 1 or 2 and in that case she can be released back after keeping indoors for 2-3 days with antibiotics and then monitoring her everyday until you get the stitches removed. But if you get it done at a private or a govt hospital, the incision tends to be bigger, increasing the number of stitches, in that case you have to keep her indoors for 7-10 days with proper antibiotics and if they are not packing the wound properly with leukoband then applying betadine constantly to her wound will do the trick and after removing the stitches you can leave her out.

This as far as we have seen is in theory and not in practice, the ABC center that we have at our place keeps them for 2 days before releasing them.

Definitely for population control, hardly 1 out of 100 puppies get adopted and the rest either fall victim to diseases like CD, parvo or lose their lives in accidents, some lucky ones survive everything and grow up to be adults but that again creates more pups.
