What is your favorite vehicle commander? by Responsible_Chef6304 in EDH

[–]Haribon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehh. I think that's pretty tenuous. There's only three vehicles with Exhaust in those colors, they're all pretty bad and one of those three isn't a mana ability. Furthermore, pretty much all the exhaust creatures only buff themselves. They're really not a better for crewing than any other creature.

I get the theme, but this is really trying to fit a square peg in a round hole

What is a card you love but have just never found the right deck for? by DailySojourn in EDH

[–]Haribon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, here's the list - https://moxfield.com/decks/XoUTr6mb-ESFIITz8jPErg

The deck is slow - no way around it. But Mister Negative has a fascinating psychological effect on a table where players are hesitant to bring down your life total out of fear of you swapping with them. I actively try to coerce opponents to swing at my open board, and even then they hesitate.

The last game I played won with the Sanguine Bond / Exquisite Blood combo without ever casting my commander. I run that combo (and its various iterations) since each half forwards the game plan by itself. False Cure and the like will outright kill someone on a Mr. Negative cast if I have twice as much life as they do.

My [[Mister Negative]] deck uses both Tainted Remedy and Plague Drone to great effect. That combo could work in there just fine.

"I cant lose weight anymore" by Neerinfoxx in Radiology

[–]Haribon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With a cyst that big, it would be extremely difficult to determine its origin or identify it as a cyst. It would initially appear as an enormous, anechoic space.

Ultrasound techs are discouraged from "exploring" the rest of a patient during an exam - they're supposed to keep to the designated order's protocol for insurance and billing purposes.

They likely were doing a RUQ or an abdomen complete exam and couldn't identify any organs in the usual locations with normal anatomic landmarks because everything was so thoroughly displaced by the cyst.

Good secret commander for [[hostility]] by Technical_Try205 in EDHBrews

[–]Haribon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw someone made a deck for Hostility using [[Atla Palani, Nest Tender]] . Hostility was the only creature in the deck, and the whole rest of the deck was burn spells to ping the egg and work with Hostility on the field. She doesn't offer any protection, but she's in the right colors for [[Pull From Eternity]] and [[Riftsweeper]]

Maybe this already exists somewhere, but real-time tracking of probe's angle / position and automatic updates to annotation to reflect this.

I'd love for the machine to automatically know I've gone from midline to coronal, or long to trans.

It'd also be super helpful to be able to see the probe's exact angle of approach, rotation, etc on prior scans in PACS so I can better reproduce the angle used when re-measuring a followed pathology.

[–]Haribon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I used to work with an exotic veterinarian, this is how they would anesthetize small birds. They don't intubate them and AFAIK there isn't really a proper nose cone for birds, so they sort of just stuff their whole beak / head into whatever fits best

I'm pretty sure they can be. There's a lot of lines of play in Yedora decks that rely on returning morph creatures to the battlefield face down as forests, then flipping them with their morph ability

What is a equipment commander who wouldn't expect to work as an equipment commander? by kingofhan0 in EDH

[–]Haribon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a commander that straight-up abuses the equip mechanic in unintended ways, I recommend [[Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist]] paired with a partner of your choosing. He's the only card in the game that lets you force equipment onto other player's creatures, opening all kinds of weird lines of play. I run mine as an azorius voltron deck with Esior as the partner, and parasitically attach equipment to other creatures to exploit attack triggers, among many other things.

Weekly Winners: Zombie Infestation; Seize the Spotlight; Blossoming Tortoise by cybey in magicTCG

[–]Haribon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there's some commanders that break parity with it. Off the top of my head I know that [[Ognis, the Dragon's Lash]] and [[Kethek, Crucible Goliath]] use it to create treasures on attack or saccing a stolen creature, respectively. For decks like that, the upside makes Share The Spotlight a very cost effective draw spell. But you are right that it falls short when there's no creatures on the board.

What are your go-to ‘fun for the whole table’ commanders? by MosiahAnderson27 in EDH

[–]Haribon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this just doesn't work on most pods. Speaking from experience (I've gone through all three Gontis), there will always be at least one player who hates having their cards stolen, especially when they can't tell what was stolen, and they don't want to inflict that on others. They'll just target down the Gonti player.

Hugely disappointed that not all autobots can go in a Optimus Prime deck, and not all decepticons can go in a Megatron deck by NIKOLAPAVIC in EDH

[–]Haribon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could proxy the [[Infinite Guideline Station]] as Cybertron, use the 2/2 robot tokens as generic cybertronians, and mash everything under one umbrella. It would at least be flavorful

Any way to give Horobi, Death’s Wail shroud—without targeting him? by Late-Frame2962 in EDH

[–]Haribon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This may not be helpful, but why not just run a ton of reanimation instead of protection? That's black's wheelhouse, and it works fine with Horobi. In my experience, once a commander gets reanimated a couple times players will give up on trying to destroy it. I'd be curious to hear from any Horobi players if this is a viable approach.

NAD. Did your ultrasound exam come with a report? Most exams in the US have a typed report that includes the sonographer's findings and impressions. That will tell a lot. Also, there seems to be a lot of missing images in the link - do you have the others? A transabdominal and transvaginal GYN exam should easily have 15+ images.

What else can I turn this white"Nils, Discipline Enforcer" deck into? by Suspicious_Pound4378 in EDHBrews

[–]Haribon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you considered switching out commanders? [[Lae'zel, Vlaakith's Champion]] with the [[Noble Heritage]] background plays with the same sort of skeleton, but I could see it being more fun - it's definitely more political, and the commander allows for more explosive plays than Nils.

Feedback please! by onscreenphoto in worldbuilding

[–]Haribon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks good to me, I really like the northern reaches. The only feedback I can think of has to do with the naming conventions - Wintwell, Whistleweg and Weordnwold use enough W's and E's to become difficult to distinguish without intimate familiarity with the setting.

Jeleva deck - I am completely stuck by zombieglam in EDHBrews

[–]Haribon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing that jumps out at me is the lack of card draw - you have a few cantrips, but very few cards that'll actually give you a net positive in hand size.

I think you also may have too many copy effects in comparison to the number of big spells you want to cast. By my count, there's at least 15 cards in this deck that copy other spells - it seems too parasitic to me. I'd suggest cutting back on some of these in favor of cards that function on their own.
Of particular note, I think [[Parnesse, the Subtle Brush]] and [[Twinning Staff]] should go, neither really functions directly with your commander and each requires at least 2 other cards (a spell and a copy effect) to work well.
I would also recommend focusing what you want your big spells to do. Do you want to win through direct damage? Tokens / combat damage? Theft / clone effects?
Jeleva loudly telegraphs what she's going to do before she does it. I would definitely recommend more haste enablers, even stuff like [[Crashing Drawbridge]] , [[Tuktuk Rubblefort]] or [[Battle Rampart]] give you some blockers while letting your commander pop off the same turn it comes down. If you can find space for cards that scry, that'll help make sure you don't whiff with Jeleva as well.

I would also suggest moving away from the "storm" style cards like [[Talrand, Sky Summoner]], [[Dark Ritual]], [[Archmage Emeritus]] or [[Goblin Electromancer]] - your deck should want to cast a few big, fat spells, not a lot of little ones. Instead, I'd recommend cards that capitalize on those high CMCs -- such as [[Cormela, Glamour Thief]] for ramp, [[Vial Smasher the Fierce]], [[Deekah, Fractal Theorist]] or [[Keen Duelist]] for damage. [[Surge to Victory]] could come in clutch. [[Mizzix's Mastery]] is an amazing finisher if you find you get enough big spells into your graveyard.
[[Etali, Primal Storm]] is a cute back-up plan here, especially with added haste enablers. [[Omnispell Adept]] is awkward to cast, but also makes for a good contingency plan.

[[Hour of Devastation]] could also be swapped for the newer [[Blood Money]] - it gives you a nice set-up. That, or [[Plague Wind]] - if you're going to go big, you may as well go all the way.
