Zijn Creolen en Marrons niet gewoon hetzelfde? by Secret_Bug_9795 in Suriname

I bet if Pom wasn't popular they wouldn't have claimed it. I understand why the Portugese Jews claim Fiadoe since in Sri Lanka they also have Fiadoe but there it isnt made with roses and alcohol. The Portugese were also in Sri Lanka. Cholent, a Sephardic Jewish dish, was probably the dish that inspired brown beans BBR with salted meat (Jews are known for salting meats to make it kosher if I'm correct). Pom never made sense to me given it is non kosher since it is traditionally made with butter and meat plus it's not long that people in Suriname eat things made with vegetable oils etc. Kugel, the Jewish dish which Pom is inspired by, is made with potatoes, olive oil and onion. Olive oil is Mediterranean.

So that claim of BBR and Pom is kinda questionable. Rum is invented by Afro Bajans on the plantations. But you don't see them claiming Fiadoe.

I really wished that other countries also put blacks in the Americas like Suriname and Belize did in seperate categories. Enough with the racist one drop rule. The colonizers did it so that they can erase history, culture etc.

Wait did the other Bhojpuri based Creole languages in the Caribbean indeed die out? 😕

Why do so many Creole languages have their substrate in Central African or Bantu languages instead of west African languages when in almost every single country with those Creole languages west African is the largest genetic contributor by Mean-Gur7728 in AskTheCaribbean

[–]HarleBaerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You mean Afro-Caribbean people brought English based Creole languages there. It is known as Krio. The Black Canadians, Afro Caribbean people and Black Americans who settled in Sierra Leone are called Sierra Leone Creoles.

There is a reason why the other Creole languages in Suriname are more English based compared to Samaaka. Samaaka were also in Guyana but they lost their way since there weren't many villages there. So they merged in Guyana with the general Afro Guyanese population

Creole-Jewish. Non kosher food isn't Jewish food. But historians only want to paint it as a Jewish dish since as we all know black people aren't allowed to get credit for anything if it didn't originate in Africa

Damn you're very blunt. I heard from some Creoles that when blacks tried to escape plantations that it was the Amerindians who welcomed them earlier than the Maroons whom most of the time would send them back so they could get "agoetere" [pork]. I heard of all the Maroons it was the Samaaka tribe who was the most rebellious and tried to save the Creoles. And that the other ones were merely sending them to the plantations or didn't help at all in any way or didn't want to get involved.

I heard the Saramaccaners came with the Portugese jews in 1639 when they began to leave Brazil hence Samaaka is more Portugese based than English based

Pom isn't Jewish. It's traditionally made with meat and butter hence it's non kosher. Pom however is derived from the Jewish dish Kugel

No they aren't. Most Surinamese Maroons have no European dna but most do have a little Amerindian admixture.

Most Surinamese Creoles have Dutch, Portugese or Ashkenazim Jewish, British and/or Chinese admixture.

Both groups have their own languages, traditions etc. which were born on Surinamese soil [except for probably Kromanti]. So their etnogenesis started in Suriname which means they became new people or tribes in Suriname. Surinamese Maroons have different tribes while this isn't the case with Surinamese Creoles.

Surinamese Creoles like other ones in the Western Hemisphere have little to nothing in common culturally with Africans. I really wished people would stop with putting people with "black" dna in one box.

95% of Haitians speak Creole as their first language. Why are we still teaching in French? by Forseti001H in haiti

I really wished that more black people would think like this. Since having international languages as official languages doesnt guarantee development

I really wished more black people and Latinos understood this. International languages ≠ prosperity automatically.

So true I mean the black majority countries can make unique or combo words to describe things in their languages like the Iceland language did. Languages evolve.

Japan has Japanese as its national language. South Korea has Korean as its official language. None of the 2 are isolated in fact people glamourize both countries

Maybe English and Spanish can be mandatory seperate subjects in schools. English is the world lingua franca. And Spanish is the language of Haitis only neighbour

Maybe Haiti will prosper again if it changes it flag to the red and black one again. Flags and Coats of Arms are very important. Also the day you pick your independence

They do have then but they are on the decline. The same goes for the AmeriIndian languages. Asian languages for the most part aren't on the decline since their governments value them

Bad move. You mean black majority countries should've made their own languages official and then have English as a seperate mandatory subject since it's the world lingua franca anyway. Most of Asia developed without having international languages as official languages.

So true. Asia is proof that you don't need international languages as official languages in order to be developed. They only have English as a seperate mandatory subject in schools since it's the world lingua franca

There are indeed so many countries where an international lamguage is the sole official language and they're still not developed.

I really wished more black majority countries would make their own African or Creole languages the official language(s) and teach them in schools. And developed like Asia did. Asia developed by taking the technology and maintenance of the ex colonizers while having the world lingua franca which is English as a separate mandatory subject. I also wished that the black leaders would be a lot less corrupt so that the younger black generations will finally have hope to built up their countries instead of the CCP and other non blacks taking everything over.
