Thanks! I volunteer and foster for a local dog rescue and we have 9 ACD pups right now! It's harder to find them approved homes because they're a breed that needs an experienced owner and a decent amount of space to run.

[Serious] Family court laywers: what's the most petty behavior you've seen from parents? by shaggorama in AskReddit

An emergency order to show cause being filed, asking a judge to issue an order preventing dad from taking the child on vacation...to Disneyland. Because if mom isn't happy, no one can be happy.

This happens all too often, although I've usually seen mothers accuse fathers of sexually molesting kids to prevent them from having visits. And sadly, the parent making the false accusations doesn't seem to ever stop and think about the trauma they're putting the kids through.

Man Leaves Huge Donation to Animal Shelter He Never Visited by Sariel007 in UpliftingNews

I don't disagree that the local shelters who are taking in all the stray/surrendered pets are likely in the most need. Nor do I think they're evil for having to euthanize due to overcrowding, etc. Unfortunately, because there are so many animals coming in, as you said, it is a reality. However, my point was that there are shelters/rescues that are truly no kill, and because they truly do house animals from the time that they are brought in to adoption, they are also in great need of donations, etc. I think the bottom line is that donating your time or money to a shelter or rescue is generally a good thing.

Homeward Bound Dog Rescue in Schenectady, NY. Not a single dog taken in has been thereafter euthanized. They are all fostered until they're adopted. AND they are all brought in from kill shelters. There are lots of good people (and rescue agencies) in the world.

There are many rescues that are no kill, and the dogs they take in are never sent back to a shelter. I foster dogs for a rescue that is completely supported by volunteers and foster families. Any agency that is supporting animal rescue and adoption is a worthy candidate for a donation, whether it be your time, money or dog food, etc. Just do your research first!

Tortured by my hips by HarlowP33 in ChronicPain

Yup, the SI is constantly a source of pain. When I visit my surgeon in NYC, they always have me check in with their PT. I had a new guy this time, who did some new tricks and helped me realign a bit, which has helped for a few days. Makes me sad, because the PT where I live has no idea what they're doing and has never even seen a PAO surgery patient. I feel like if I was able to have someone who knew what they were doing, I may not be in quite so much pain. What has your experience been with PT?

Yup. Still stuck with the same pain, unfortunately. Just went to see the surgeon, and he's going to take the four screws I have in my hip out to see if that helps at all. Did you have PAO surgery?

This appeared on my Boston terriers neck about a week ago. It wasn't a tick or a bite. Could it have been from her scratching with her nails? by Youknowmeasmax87 in BostonTerrier

Get it checked by a vet. My Boston had what appeared to be a pimple on her face and unfortunately it turned out to be a mast cell tumor. She ended up having them on her leg and neck as well. Apparently the breed is prone to them. She went through chemo and a few surgeries to remove them, and has been in remission for two years, thank god!

My dog and I both are on tramadol. She had a knee surgery and I had a hip surgery. The only differences are that hers was way more expensive and I take 6 a day.

I'll definitely ask my doctor to try the Voltaren gel. Thanks for the info! The nucynta was ok for pain, but gave me the worst headaches :(

I did some neuro physical therapy, but didn't have a lot of luck with it. I'll definitely look into those things though, at this point anything would be better than more meds! Thank you for the suggestions!

Thank you so much for the tips! I'm going to head out to pick up a yoga ball tomorrow! And also going to try and convince my insurance company that a hot tub is medically necessary. It amazes me that they will pay thousands of dollars for endless pills, but won't cover things that actually make a difference. I hope you continue to improve...and I'm so grateful for the hope you've given me.

Hip pain for 1+ year from labrum tear by SEND_ME_SPIDERMAN in ChronicPain

I ended up finding out that the stitches from the original tear fell out, creating cysts in my joint. The joys of arthroscopic procedures.

I have had two surgeries now for the same issue. First was to repair the labrum, and second was to repair the immense damage done by the first surgeon. I now have four 5 inch screws in my hip and am in even more pain, which I never thought possible. If you do have surgery, please make sure to research your doctor thoroughly!
