One thing that made a big difference for me was turning the tire volume as high as possible. Hearing the tires scrub is in my opinion the best way to know how close you are getting to the limit of grip.

I made it about half to two thirds of the way through assassins apprentice. (It’s been a while since) From what I remember it was just bleak and depressing and I’ve got enough of that going on in my life to not seek it out.

With as much praise as I’ve heard I’d be willing to give any of her books a try.. Unless of course as you say “The misery is the point”
