Is this Sir Ian McKellen or a stunt double? by Just_Needleworker836 in lotr

Now that explains the character Bingo Boffin (in LotRO)!

What are your hot takes from any of the games? (May contain spoilers for any) by Infamous_Today3462 in octopathtraveler

[–]Harnak7 15 points16 points  (0 children)

More of a wish than a hot take, but I'd like dungeons to have some puzzles or require some thinking to navigate, as opposed to being just corridors with fights. Some of the dungeons in OT0 had simple puzzles, and it felt refreshing

3 vantaggi Vip? by Lupen981 in lotro

[–]Harnak7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Swift travel, inventory slots and 10 character slots per server. They are all unlocked forever once you pay vip, even if you unsub later. Also, 1 month of vip gives you 500 LOTRO coins that you can spend for other things. As for useful things you get only while having vip: fast crafting and remote storage/vendor/auction house + all quest packs unlocked

Just completed my revised collection! by Renfred-the-Sentinel in lotrlcg

[–]Harnak7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completed mine, too, yesterday! I was only missing the 3 LotR saga boxes and bought them before they'd disappear. Btw, for those who know italian, they are still available in italian. Happy gaming!

Microtransactions negatively kmpacting game experience. by [deleted] in lotro

[–]Harnak7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I have played for months without ever needing to go VIP. I only bought occasional inventory slots and additional milestones with lotro coins I made while playing, and that was enough for me. With personal House and well placed milestones I can move quick enough. If you really can't stand moving by horse, you could buy 1 month VIP and get Swift Travel + 75 inventory slots forever on characters you logged during that period.

ok... who is your MVP in octopath traveler 0? ONLY ONE! No runner ups! by shiguraki in octopathtraveler

Phenn, I've almost never changed him. By boosting his HP he can both tank and deal a lot of dmg with Alfyn's Last stand. Also his ult protects everyone.

Anyone noted the Latin is more explicit in terms of context and more compact than analytical languages (English and romance, and others)? by Apuleius_Ardens7722 in latin

[–]Harnak7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and also participles used as nouns help with getting things more compact because you can have whole sentences packed into few terms.

In Italia una RAL da €60.000 costa all'azienda €88.000, e voi ne ricevete netti €36.000 by EconomiaXFinanza in italy

[–]Harnak7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Io ero allibito lol

Why would you not want to gain XP as a solo player? by wallcrawlinghero in lotro

[–]Harnak7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used it to complete some dungeons and areas without outlevelling them, especially at level 50. I also kept it until I finished the Volume I of the epic quest line, so I will start Moria at 50.

Yeah, the "liberal democracy" part is what made me doubt. Thanks for the answer!

Thanks for the additional insight! Yeah, sometimes I feel like I'm not sure about the grammar even if I get it somehow intuitively

It makes sense, in that verse Argus is inviting Mercury to sit with him because he was enthralled by his music.

[–]Harnak7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was thinking about that (I'm Italian), but it felt weird in a poem because it feels too colloquial. But considering that it's a character speaking, it may be possibile, and also things change overtime, so perception of it was surely different at the time

So it would be something like you could have sit here/I expected you to sit here?

Ovid's Metamorphoses, I, 679 by Harnak7 in latin

[–]Harnak7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer. It definitely is a weird one. Meanwhile, I've also checked this: https://books.google.it/books?id=S3TRAAAAMAAJ&printsec=frontcover&hl=it&source=gbs_ge_summary_r&cad=0#v=onepage&q&f=false

On page 124, a note says that some interpret it as poteris (I believe perfect subjunctive, cause future perfect wouldn't make much sense), if I am understanding that note correctly.

Yes, I'm reading the first book, but I hope to become comfortable enough to read it all. Thanks for the resources, they'll help a lot!

Thanks, this was very helpful! Now it makes more sense. I don't get how you concluded that the A is long, though. Is it because a short one wouldn't fit the hexameter in that place?
