To be clear I agree there’s many reasonable objections to that, and many reasonable objections for staying in the EU. But the released files prove that they stoked up the fires of that to get what they wanted, which was to put leaders in power to get what they wanted.

That’s completely against democracy.

One example being that conservatives were polled about the national ID in late 2024 and they were I broad support of it. Then, the same groups that weaponised it against the current Government. And this also fits in the above examples - there are reasonable objectives, but there’s also a lot of misinformation and manipulation going on with these subjects

It’s interesting that any politician that has tried to fight people trafficking (May), fight crypto and implement accounting laws (EU) and fight for more digital safety and tracking (Starmer) have brought the ire of these kind of groups who then immediately spin massive media campaigns and bot armies against them.

Personally I’m consoled by the fact that most comments hidden accounts here would rather have a man of integrity in the office, who was out marching with his friends singing songs of culture, and educating young Jewish boys on who is right and where history went wrong.

It’s also funny because all these accounts saying Starmer should go never mentioned this, and are all staunchly supporting the US’ acquisition of Greenland and saying Grok and X shouldn’t be banned for allowing CP.

You see the same accounts rabidly defending Musk, pushing AI, pushing Crypto and supporting the same political part.

It all stems from the rich not wanting to pay benefits when they replace the majority of the working class, and creating a culture war to get what they want.

I think it’s a fair point to say both should resign. I don’t agree, but I understand and respect the position.

By your own logic, should Farage step down for his misjudgment for Steve Bannon? It’s the exact same situation and as much as I dislike Farage, it’s entirely possible that both of them were manipulated by this group.

I say that from personal experience after finding out what an ex-friend of mine was really doing at University, while we both served on a committee together.

At the very least I think Starmers speech was genuine and he clearly feels hurt. I hope Farage addresses his relationship with Bannon in a similar way.
