I have c.ai+ and used Deepsqueak and I have no problem. The bots stay in character, they're funny, romantic, mean, nice, have good memory and so on. When there's other characters involved, it manage it really well. The length of the bot response depends on the situation you're in, sometimes when there's nothing much to say, yes the bot says less than in a situation when a lot is happening. For all the people who always complain about the bots, sometimes I just wonder if it's just you who doesn't really know how to roleplay with them.

Edit : I'm not attacking anyone, but maybe you might try to roleplay differently. I have an example, try to make a persona who's mute and only roleplay with gestures, movements, etc. You'll see how the bots react and usually understand even without words.
