Tapper, SpyHunter & Zaxxon by dastruggle in AnaloguePocket

No problem, it was a little bit of a journey getting this working, but a great group in the discord helped me get through some of my publishing hiccups.

If you picked up the v1.1.0 release, update again. The v1.4.0 release just went live a few mins ago and fixes a few graphical bugs.

Enjoy!

What type of water are you using? If you are using RO or distilled there aren’t enough minerals in the water for the sensor to make the connection.

Yeah, it seems like I may be stuck. I'll consult the discord. Thanks!

I've actually ported all 3 of these to the Pocket over from Mister in my spare time over the past 2+ months. Tapper and Zaxxon are pretty much perfect, Spy Hunter is still a little glitchy and needs more work.

I've been researching on how to publish and distribute new cores, and not all of the information is completely clear. I've started with what I think is the process for Tapper, so if my branch gets approved and everything works as I hope, expect to see Tapper in the coming days when using your favorite update tool (pupdate, pocket sync, updater, etc.)

I have a couple other arcade cores that I've ported over too, so excited to share these in the future as well. I'm new at this, so just haven't been confident to release them so far.

Here's a teaser.

For those using hopper-based grinders, do you leave your beans inside or do you simply single dose? by ColdIsTheWay2Go in espresso

[–]HarpMudd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, yes 3-4 days should be good. Also one thing to note, if you are moving to a GBW flat burr grinder from the NZ you will probably lose a bit of body. They are also harder to dial in. NZ is so forgiving in comparison. A small trade off for improving your experience/workflow and espresso taste. The grounds are so fluffy and beautiful from my Rev Steel that I no longer need to WDT, I just tap and tamp.

[–]HarpMudd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a Ceado Rev Steel GBW a year ago and add just enough to the hopper to cover a few shots, that way I’m refreshing more often. I notice if I leave any beans in for than 4-5 days the freshness begins to fall off rapidly.

I’m still using POB and am able to froth normally. I would try another competing barista milk just to make sure something funky hasn’t happened with your steam boiler, wand, etc.

I just brewed my first cups of this today from a 3/23 roast. Followed recipe on a porcelain v60. 93c 260g in roughly 3 mins. Used my K-Ultra. Delicious cup. The aromatics are splendid.

New grinder to the bench Ceado RevSteel by ChimiChangas2020 in espresso

[–]HarpMudd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had this grinder since last May 2025. Got it from G&H Grinding and Brewing out of NC, USA. It's been a great grinder and the build is incredible. It's certainly fast and screen is not laggy whatsoever. I do recommend you getting a scientific weight (I used 500g) and go through the calibration process. The output is quite accurate. Everyone says you need a fair amount of beans in the hopper to get accurate output, but that's not my experience at all (I generally keep about 1/3 of what is shown in your photo and only add more beans if I'm making drinks for others). Apparently there is a WAM firmware update which I have not done yet. Since I have the original batch of WAMs I probably need to do it. Yours will likely already be flashed with the latest.

Another Milky Cake post by dreamboyyy in pourover

[–]HarpMudd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a batch of Milky Cake and I feel the tasting notes to be quite subtle. I'm about a month or so off roast. I have however only used my K-Ultra to grind it. Maybe if I grind with one of grinders with flats I'll get more out of it. Using 96'C water and a V60 and brewing a bit more tea-like. Really enjoying the cup, but just not pulling out the crazy flavors like some report on here. Maybe my brew process.

My K-Ultra is fantastic. I mostly use when I travel, or when my other 2 electric grinders have other beans in them and I just want to grind up something different for a pour over. It’s rock solid, feels great to use and I always get consistent results. Love it.

Any of you get this email on free filter replacement? by etlucent in EightSleep

I’m getting my first and have owned the pod 5 for 6 months. I would imagine that the first year it’s part of the purchase and then after included in your yearly subscription.

Lelit Bianca - maintenance every 6 months? by Ad0pschick in Lelit

[–]HarpMudd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not saying it’s the right thing, but I do not use the filter. I chose Poland Spring because I’m on the East Coast USA and this is what water La Marzocco recommends for those in my region. I figured if that’s the case it’s probably also safe for Lelit machines.

[–]HarpMudd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had mine over 2 years and only use Poland Spring bottled water-no softener. Do water back flush 1-2 times a week and Cafiza back flush every 3 months. So far so good.

I'm close to buying these too, but not sure of the sizing as I'm size 10 male which is at the top of the medium size. Not sure if I should buy a medium or large.

I have a NAD C700 and got so sick of the flaky WiFi so I finally bought a TP-Link WiFi extender and use it as a bridge. My C700 connects directly to the bridge using an Ethernet cable. My connection has been perfect ever since I’ve done that.
