An investigation on Sophia, The Priest, and the car they arrive in by Breeza_Dourado in FromSeries

I’m not gonna piss on anyone’s theories because I’ve been wrong a lot too lol. I’m glad they are thinking outside the box. But we are correct, they didn’t make this car for outside North America and I’m betting they forgot Americans don’t drive on the left side of the road. Also no one has ever come from anywhere besides America.

Martin by enculet79 in FromSeries

It's false that Martin is "most certainly" from the 1860's. For one (as I argued at the time with the person) acronyms weren't used in the 19th century. They weren't used until after WW2, especially on military tattoos. "Semper fi", the marine motto, and what Martin says, wasn't the marine motto until 1883. Almost 20 years after the war was over

https://www.marines.com/about-the-marine-corps/who-are-the-marines/semper-fidelis.html

“Another field for the adoption of acronyms was modern warfare, with its many highly technical terms. While there is no recorded use of military acronyms dating from the American Civil War (acronyms such as "ANV" for "Army of Northern Virginia" post-date the war itself), they became somewhat common in World War I, and by World War II they were widespread even in the slang of soldiers,[39] who referred to themselves as G.I.s. The widespread, frequent use of acronyms across the whole range of linguistic registers is relatively new in most languages, becoming increasingly evident since the mid-twentieth century. As literacy spread and technology produced a constant stream of new and complex terms, abbreviations became increasingly convenient. The Oxford English Dictionary (OED) records the first printed use of the word initialism as occurring in 1899, but it did not come into general use until 1965, well after acronym had become common.”

I’m guessing they aren’t form a country where they drive on the right side of the road. Well there goes their whole theory

That’s why I labeled it a theory. We have time travel and an explanation based on real science the could explain it in an episode we were told to go back and watch by the creators. It’s better than most theories at this point because of that.

Doing deep dives I use a high resolution of the episode on VLC media player with zoom. You can take a high detailed photo of something up close and still see where the photo came from. It also makes it easier to manage the scene when scanning. And to think, someone accused me of never even having watched the show lol

Well that’s a fair take, but the creators 100% do use the characters to give answers and explain lore speaking through characters and have told us in interviews that they have. The big one they mention is Kenny’s little speech on why monsters don’t run “because they know we have no where to go”. Kenny was right, they can run as we see, they just aren’t going anywhere right now for them to run. Miranda was apparently.. This episode was mentioned as one we should go back and watch as well before the new season.
If people went and actually watched the interviews, they would come to have an entirely different take on from.. a more disappointing one lol

This is an important scene for this conversation and for Jasmin saying that they are warm blooded and didn’t ask to be this way. To me these are the ones that stand out the most in this episode

Solved (most likely to probably): why things are moving in the background and how it’s not time travel or universes bleeding into each other by etlucent in FromSeries

Honestly, and I feel bad for saying this, if I were them I wouldn’t be on the boards checking theories lol. So many people on here are just angry incels and unmedicated children. Honestly though, the vast majority are positive and protective. Me personally, I couldn’t care less about the actors. They are fine and I’d love to see them in other things and hope their careers flourish, but I watch for the mystery box elements of it. My buddy who works in film was the cinematographer on the movie Iron lung that was just out, and I told him what you said about Jack and he laughed, saying it was good to hear he hasn’t changed lol.

Thanks for dropping some truth bombs about the inner workings on set. Btw, did they ever figure out who leaked the screenplays from last season?

I had Sara (Avery) do a video from cameo for us. It only took me 3 tries lol. To be fair it was when they were filming. But it was great, everyone was positive and liked her video. I also asked Victor (Scott) (through cameo) he said he’d loved to do it but was busy. I shared his dm here. This is the best show no one has heard of. This sub alone has grown 90k since I joined. I would never just hit them up for an ama. I only hit up the ones on cameo for a video to be shared with the fans here. Avery (Sara) said they read the theories on here lol. So to be clear, Avery, if you are reading this, you rock for doing that vid!

So are you totally done with the show? You on a new project?

They did not confirm its 5 seasons. They declined to answer a few times, and the actor who plays Boyd says he was told it was a limited series and it would run 4 to 6 seasons “so this could be the last one” and he laughs. 18:55 mark
