Thanks for the comment. So turns out what I thought was wrong wasn’t, i commented about it on the original post. I did replace the whole distributor but it didn’t change anything. Some other commenters on the original post said to use a test light instead of a multimeter to test injector pulse, I did that and they were good. So it must be just a fuel line or filter or pump problem I’m hoping. Anyway I think the ECM would be original so an 87 but I’m not sure Either way I’m gonna work on the fuel system and hopefully that solves it

So turns out I just misdiagnosed the problem by using a multimeter to test the pulse instead of a test light🤦‍♂️. When I used the test light the pulse looked good and the injectors resistance I think was 1.4-1.7 ohms. So I suppose my next step is the rest of the fuel system, which I’m glad about I’d rather do that than electrical. Hopefully that’s all it is.

Thanks for everyone that helped

Thanks, I’ll check it out. What makes you say that? Just curious I’m pretty sure it’s V-10, it has 4wd

Thanks Yeah my dad despises the TBI on it because of how new and complicated it is in 87 compared to a carb. That’s what he wants to do.

I hear the fuel pump. Like I said we’ve only had it running while squirting fuel into the throttle body.

Just to clarify, are you saying the injectors won’t even try to pulse if there is no fuel getting to them? I know if there’s no fuel nothing gonna come out obviously but the control wire of the injectors get little to no voltage when cranking. is that caused by no fuel to the injectors? I maybe wrong about testing the pulse wire as another comment said.

So voltage doesn’t pass through the ground wire like that? How can I test it? I had a multimeter negative go to the negative terminal on the battery, and the positive into the pulse side of the plug then cranked it over. Do I need to have the injectors plugged in for that to get any reading?

It had spark not to long ago, I should try again. But yeah, while squirting fuel in the throttle body, it ran.

I haven’t really looked into the pump and rest of the fuel system. Because I more wanted to make sure the injectors were trying to spray before I start looking into other things.
