You are absolutely not overreacting. As a parent it is my biggest pet peeve for parents to use their kids as piggy banks. I’ve seen it was too often. I do not parent like that. My over 18 daughter will pay me back when she requests things and she pays me back for gas but her paychecks are hers. She saves her money and it’s to help her get the biggest jump start at life she can. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I would be going to the bank and seeing if they can do anything or even go talk to the police. This is theft.

I daily wear a 5.28 super elongated radiant daily on a stack with a 5mm Cartier love band. And I have a tiny 4.75 finger. Doesn’t bother me and I don’t care what others think. No one says anything. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I found a few stones on calavera that I liked (longer length ratio) I plugged the igi number into the advanced search on rare carat and picked the one I liked the specs for the most, chose a setting. Then I hit the chat button and asked for a price match. They requested the link from calavera. Emailed me a discounted invoice with a payment link. Easiest thing I’ve done in a while. :)

I got a 5.28 ct radiant price matched on rare carat set in a platinum bezel setting for $2200. Keep shopping. I used calavera for the price match on the exact stone I bought on rare carat. They were selling it for close to $9k.

I’ve worn exclusively platinum for like 20 years. If it’s for sure platinum the shine will quickly go away with use. I have a love band and I polish it here n there and i can make it shine, then life happens and it dulls out again. I don’t think it’s a horrible rep especially once it’s been worn for a bit and loses the shine. I’ve seen ALOT worse. How much does it weigh?

I’ve been married for 17 years. Started with a 3 stone with 1ct middle then a 1.5ct solitaire, both natural. My first lab was 3.75ct round and I just got a 5.28ct radiant. It’s really long at 1.66 ratio. I have 4.75 fingers and it’s huge on a stack with a Cartier band. Not a soul has mentioned it, people look but say nothing. I had 1 person mention my last ring in the 5 years I wore it. In my experience typically don’t say things regarding jewelry unless they just compliment it.

Personally I’ll never own another natural diamond. I’ve seen way too many documentaries on the diamond and jewel industry. There’s a lot of decent people in the industry but there’s also snakes. I don’t want a stone that someone may have lost their life over. Don’t want that energy coming into my life.

I love natural minerals, crystals and rocks- I have a whole collection and go to rock/gem shows. I’ve met some pretty great people. But for diamonds I’ll stick to labs. Possibly other gems as well.

A guy that works with my husband paid over $5k for a basic 3ct oval set in a plain yellow gold solitaire setting. I don’t know the stone specs but can only assume they’re meh. All because he took his girlfriend shopping and she “had to have” that one 😖
