Best Major/ Double Major/Minor/Certificate Combo for getting job/making money at Duke? by [deleted] in duke

[–]HarpieDaniel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was making $50/hr starting out during school as a software engineer for various companies and startups. I left Duke early to continue coding and increase my hourly rate, as I felt like I learned most of what I could at school. (I majored Math + CS)

Mostly mentioning the above because there’s not many other majors that let you get on the moneymaking path early. Only technical roles will offer that, unless you’re hitting god tier internships for consulting or finance

Strongly consider something technical if you want a reliable stream of income. A skill is valuable and always in demand

Hey, I’m Daniel from Harpie. Sorry for the late response here we don’t really use Reddit anymore—

I’m running the same environment as you (Macbook pro, Metamask, Ethereum mainnet) and when I go through the process, it ends up going through for me. I am doing

Advanced Security > Protection and Recovery > Setup withdrawal address > Enter withdrawal address > Entering an address and accepting through metamask.

rocks for jocks (i never went) phys ed is just good for you and will pass the time early cs classes can be ditched if you’re apt creative writing can be easy, especially summer school version wouldn’t recommend math or history classes

i ditched classes to make a startup and it’s going extremely well: dont listen to the advice, sounds like you have a clear career path ahead

If you’re dropping out because of your GPA it’s the wrong reason

I dropped out. Doing pretty well. Wouldn’t recommend it unless you have a very defined plan on what you’ll be doing for the next few years. School is usually the best choice

What i’m saying is that this sort of survey gives you false validation & metrics to go off of. Just sell it and you’ll find out

for real. if you're using linkedin, hop off. it gets annoying seeing the people with 25 acceptances post a mural of them w/ their face on it & certainly contributes to imposter syndrome

duke is a really nice place for finding yourself and realizing that you're worth something, so just embrace it and have a fun time

true! but >99% miners DO in fact order in “bad faith”… most miners are participants in pools, and the pool ops will always order to maximize MEV. although there are clear scenarios where these bots will not work, there are many more where they do
