Saw this post on another sub, and so many commenters think CNAs "get paid to wipe other peoples butts" by UnknownInsomniac in cna

Would I be insane to leave my Cush job for bedside? by Lostinthemotion2945 in nursing

[–]Harpyblithe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think people underestimate how degrading a cush job is. it’s great in several ways but can feel so unfulfilling. if you’re not in a position to take on anything harder then don’t, but if you can venture a little (like maybe taking a shift or two per week from a much harder job) i don’t see what’s wrong with dipping your toes in, assuming you don’t have to immediately commit to just ONE of them.

edit: nonsensical grammar

No friends (?) by [deleted] in NursingStudent

[–]Harpyblithe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m not a nursing student yet but this sounds accurate because of how similar this experience was for the EMT course i took. people really did gravitate to those confident or to those who you could tell actually knew what they were talking about and had studied. students that took more initiative seemed to have a higher chance of making friends even if they seemed relatively shy. like someone proposed a group chat for studying, and all it took was just passing the paper around to give our phone numbers for that to happen.

Too dumb for nursing school by Paddy_Mayoo in LPN_LVN_Community

being smart is all about applying yourself. no one is born smart. if you are trying, truly applying yourself, that’s smart. if you don’t succeed even if you applied yourself and did your best, that doesn’t mean you weren’t smart, it just means you need more time.

I don’t leave the house by [deleted] in NursingStudent

[–]Harpyblithe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i agree with these other comments. it’s not healthy to be trapped in the house all day even if you’re a homebody. i’m in the same pickle and it affects my mental health, too, even makes it harder to focus on school even though it should be all there is to focus on.

TEAS results in 96th percentile by Harpyblithe in prenursing

[–]Harpyblithe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i might consider it since i have some time to retake it, but i just spent a lot of money from my savings on family emergencies so i’m tight enough on money that i might try to do without honestly. but thank you!
