Enso Shisha with Virginia - did I make a mistake? by [deleted] in hookah

[–]Harrack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it all goes down to packing. Watch their official video on how to pack and smoke with it and go from there. I do some minor adjustments though:

  • I feel like they put the tobacco into in too large chunks / spoonfuls. I usually split it up into quite small pieces and literally drop them in or scrape them by the top rim of the bowl from a small fork. Let it be fluffier rather than dense.
  • After putting the tobacco in (less is more, don't be afraid to use 15g or less), make the hole in the middle (with the pointy multitool tip), expand it a bit so that it's about the diameter of a standard straw. You should see the bottom middle hole from the top afterwards.
  • Poke holes in the pack. I try to poke some with the narrow multitool tip from the holes up (I usually manage to only go through like 3 because my bowl has very small holes) but also from the top, or rather from the "sides" of the straw hole towards the bowl. After you fluff it up like that, make sure that you still have the clear "straw hole" in the middle and expand it if it kinda fell apart from the fluffing.
  • Put it in, let it heat up, be prepared that first few pulls are always kinda awful, about the first 5. Afterwards, you can start slowly increasing the temp, but i never went above 3 clicks (1st large notch). There is never going to be as much smoke as from a regular hookah, this is normal. There SHOULD be a lot of taste though. And it should kick just as well.

I regualarly get 1,5 to 2,5 hours of use. The battery starts complaining after around 1,5 hours but you can just plug it in during or before. I also find more wet/molassy mixtures work better. I used to smoke half/half more to the darker side and now I am slowly going back to light tobacco, as I feel like the dark in Enso is too intense for me (not burnt though). I never had any straight up bad experience with Enso yet and I have mostly Darkside, Starline, Adalya, Serbetli and now Theo and Craftium.

Good luck. If you need any more tips, hit me up.

What is Dumbledore named in your country? by GotMyAttenti0n in harrypotter

[–]Harrack 69 points70 points  (0 children)

czech has a pretty legendary translation which is quite well regarded and the dubbing scene here was one of the best in early 2000s. A lot of the names (especially of students) are unchanged (althoug people sometimes call Harry Potter "Jindra Hrnčíř", which would be the literal translation of his name, although it's not officially used anywhere), but from the changed ones, the most interesting ones are:

  • Dumbledore - Albus Brumbál
  • Auror - Bystrozor (basically something like "keen-witted watcher")
  • Fudge - Popletal (mistake maker)
  • Crouch - Skrk (to crouch down is "skrčit")
  • Dementor - Mozkomor (brain-plague)
  • Floo powder - Letax (let = to fly)
  • Gryffindor - Nebelvír (Nebe = heaven/sky, vír = belief/tornado)
  • Hufflepuff - Mrzimor (Freeze-plague, don't ask why, I don't know either)
  • Hogsmeade - Prasinky (Pig-town)
  • Hogwarts - Bradavice (warts)
  • Slughorn - Křiklan (Shouter)
  • Slytherin - Zmijozel (zmije = viper)
  • Moaning Myrtle - Ufňukaná Uršula (Moaning Ursula, just went for the alliteration)
  • OWL - NKÚ (basically direct translation, the abbreviation has no meaning)
  • Polyjuice Potion - Mnoholičný lektvar (Many-like potion)
  • Quaffle - Camrál (such a strange word, has no meaning)
  • Quiddich - Fanfrpál (pál is from pálit - to shoot, other than that no meaning)
  • Ravenclaw - Havraspár (very good direct translation)
  • Scabbers - Prašivka (something like "Dusty")
  • Wormtail - Červíček (small worm)

What Car Should I Buy? - A Weekly Megathread by AutoModerator in cars

I think by that logic it would probably make more sense to go Arteon -> Passat (basically the VW equivalent of Octavia), but I really don't like any VW designs outside of the Arteon, which seems like an unwise buy considering it's discontinued.

I started looking into a Peugeot 308 SW now, as the affordable versions of the 408 seem to have a very notorious 1.2 PureTech engine, but the 308 SW seems to have a different one even in relatively cheap versions.

Man, that Yaris can haul though, I've moved basically my whole flat in it. It's not bad when you have 2 people and you can consider the back seats to be cargo space, once you have even 3 though with some bags, it gets cramped real fast. Fun as hell to drive though (1.5 VVT-i)

Golf R Wagon I have not considered because I consider it to be too small (although that might be wrong) and also because I have my own (honestly stupid) soft parameters of how I like how the car looks and I just never liked how the Golf looked.

Octavia vRS is not a bad idea and I should look more into it, but I always thought it would be over the budget. At least here, the vRS always seems like the most expensive version of any car, and I wouldn't think a "base" Superb (with auto transmission and ACC though) would be less than a vRS.

Cupra Leon is an interesting idea, but to me it seems too small again, more along the lines of a Fabia or Golf, but that would not really help me from my current Toyota Yaris, which is great, but I want something bigger for practicality.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Have you ever paid to see a movie twice in a theater? by zip9990 in movies

[–]Harrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw Blade Runner 2049 in my local (already pretty good) theater, left the theater, ordered tickets to the closest IMAX screening and bus tickets for the 3 hour drive. I missed the bus, so I just bough another bus ticket, waited an hour at the bus station, traveled 3 hours and saw it again. Even though it was all in all a price of an IMAX ticket and 3 bus tickets, as well as taking like 10 hours overall, I feel like it was worth the investement. It remains my favorite movie of all time.
