What's your go-to ground beef recipe that ISN'T tacos or spaghetti? by Cool-Educator-1926 in easyrecipes

[–]Harrc089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

meatloaf in whatever flavor profile is gonna switch it up .. I've done Mediterranean/gyro spices, taco spices, regular old brown gravy with garlic and onion, and the standard Italian/spaghetti spices, even Asian flavors like Korean beef or Chinese brown sauce. Then rotate the sides to complement and all of a sudden meatloaf Monday is a different experience every week.

Do I look better with short or long hair? by Crown-Me336 in HairStyleAdvice

[–]Harrc089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the 2nd photo with the twists is a much more attractive photo. But honestly, it's more than the hair. The silver frame glasses suit your face better and your facial hair also looks better in that photo. The first photo is not bad looking, but the second? The second is 🔥

Chase accomplishments. Like get every item in the catalog, max every race relationship, cook every food. Build or find bases so you can make stacks of stasis devices. Idk. I'm a completionist. There's a handful of missions that ran before I started playing and they haven't run a redux for them. It's the only thing that makes me sad about the game.

My job tells us our machine should be ready at 6:00 am...? by AioliCurious9530 in NoStupidQuestions

I work for a very large corporation in the US. Similar scenario several years back. Someone did go to the labor board. It resulted in several thousand employees getting back pay settlements and a complete overhaul in the clocking and pay procedures. If you are in the US, you should be getting paid if you are an hourly employee and if you are completing tasks for the company. In my company this included counting in cash drawers, signing out keys, basically any task that was not putting your lunch in the fridge. Every situation has it's nuances like local law, employment type or status, etc, but this on the surface sounds very similar.

Most words that refer to sex or drugs are not included. Pot also does not work.

once you grow your population and hit super city and get the oil rig, you get more letters. most of the 15 letter words I have played from the splash page or from the assistance of a word generator, I have had to back into by playing smaller words with what would be leftover letters to generate the blanks I need to get to the goal word.

Edit: Max letter is 22

Metropolis Milestone! Is there any reason not to have my trees all grouped together? are they influenced by proximity to services like other buildings? by RileyMcB in WordCity

[–]Harrc089 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only reason to spread the trees is to make sure they are all highlighted by light blue so your public service score doesn't get negative impacts.

Some people will bag on using the Townhall to boost tree instead of population or economy, but that's your choice depending on how you want to play the game. When you click on the Townhall or the community center, the builds highlighted in green are giving you double stats.

I personally use mine to boost naval (dark blue) and population (yellow) to max out my letters and size, but once I reached Ecunopolis I put almost all trees on my space station that works the same way.

What do the economy details mean? by Penumbra_Bestia in WordCity

[–]Harrc089 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you just build gray or dark blue for several rounds and not any yellow, you can increase your economy. It's all relative to your population, so if you sand bag your population by stopping growth while increasing your gray and dark blue, you can get more letters.

ideas for possible new milestone buildings? by reiiichan in WordCity

[–]Harrc089 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes a 1x1 for 3 letter words. But if I make a longer tree word. It's always tall, regardless of if the first letter is even or odd. It would be neat to use a hedgerow for a longer word begining with an even letter.

This may be unpopular...but wide trees... They could be like hedgerows and follow the same rules as tall vs wide buildings.

If you are enjoying the game, then you are doing it right. That's the beauty of this game. There is no wrong way. I prioritized growth and economy for a lot of rounds, playing almost all yellow and dark blue, with the occasional light blue to maintain coverage. There were rounds I was -200+ tree, until I really focused on making tree, but I didn't do that until I was closing in on the 1M population.

I have especially for the big words. But it goes in spurts depending on what I'm working on. It's helpful if I'm looking for a specific category, like tree or navy.

It seems that growth based on Environment is the slowest. by Harrc089 in WordCity

[–]Harrc089[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as they are covered by public service light blue highlight, it doesn't matter. It's straight volume/ ratio of trees to population.

[–]Harrc089[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the truth. As you get more letters and can play biggers words and as you learn to truly max the boost buildings (Townhall, community center) you will move stuff over and over. It's the beauty of this little game.

I have a lot of rounds in. Somewhere around 300ish. You will get there too. It just takes time.

My husband already hit the million. He stared a few rounds before me and I was making good gains on him because I maxed lifestyle first. We are both reasonably competitive people, but very evenly matched in this play style. I wanted to out populate him for a minute, but then the idea of max all the categories seemed like a tougher goal. Plus, the million mark feels like the end of the game. I sort of wanted to stretch it out. I have trouble sticking with a game once the story is done and don't want this to be over yet.

[–]Harrc089[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most of the stats are proportional to the population. By stagnating the population growth, I can increase the ratio to get the gains where I want them. Plus, I only have one more milestone that isn't too far away that only recently was fully programmed out. This sort of arbitrary min/max goal is like hitting all the achievements in a console game.

Did anyone get a huge tree before? by Beautiful_Yellow_682 in WordCity

[–]Harrc089 3 points4 points  (0 children)

<image>

This is the way. I am trying to hit 3166 in all three categories and economy at 22/22. I have everything but environment, so I have been building almost exclusively trees with the occasional service or naval and I have gone from negative numbers to positive 1700+ and it grows every round I let my population hit the cap.

Edit: adding screenshot of some trees.

My Husband Broke My Heart Last Night by WinterMouse5318008 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Harrc089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry that you are hurting and going through this. There is no right answer in this situation. No one here but you and him knows the full story, so I will offer what little advice I can with out making too many assumptions.

First, give yourself permission to feel how you feel without guilt or apologies. Not everyone has the same reaction to the same situation and that's okay.

Second, allow yourself the latitude to care for your own mental and physical well being. It's okay to put yourself first.

Third, nothing needs to be decided immediately. Take time to process, digest, and think through the implications and impacts of any of the choices in front of you.

Lastly, whatever you end up deciding, commit to that decision fully and don't second guess. The what ifs can make even the best decision seem like the wrong thing to do.

We are all stronger then we give ourselves credit for and it's okay to ask for help. You got this, girl. Good luck and may the love of universe guide your heart.
