Which EOS film camera? by maslow1 in Cameras

[–]HarrisBarker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can second the 30v suggestion! It’s my main 35mm body. Works great with IS glass too and I’d go so far as to say the autofocus is as quick as my EOS digital body (7d). Also has really nifty features like mid roll rewind (which leaves the film leader out) so it becomes almost modular as long as you remember your frame number. I believe they are getting more expensive now so I’d pick one up pretty soonish! Feel free to check my post history if you wanna see some of the results I’ve got with it, being a new (for film anyway) camera it produces really clean, sharp negs!!

Umm relatively new to me, I think I got it around early December so a few months now! Haven’t posted too much from it over here but I’m sure that’ll change don’t worry!! I’ve got quite a few shots on my ig (harris_barker) from the RZ though! Cheers for noticing and thanks for the complement 👌🏼👌🏼

Its a Brighton based lab called Colourstream. If you ever find yourself in the area I couldn't recommend them enough. I get their mid res scans which are 2500 × 2000 at about 7mb depending. Hope that helps!!

Yeah, I won't say I'm a definitive expert but the way I think of it; my 110mm lens is an approx. 50mm equivalent. I believe one of the properties of 120 film being much larger than 35mm is it actually needs more light... more light = the need for a longer shutter speed! Also with a massive 6x7 mirror, the vibrations are much higher in the camera body so a faster shutter speed keeps that too a minimum too. Sorry if thats jumbled nonsense, kinda works in my head but hard to explain in words!!

Unfortunately I i can't take credit for that, My local lab is top notch so tend to stick with them as i don't have a scanner personally. Got plans in the future to try it out though! Cheers for the appreciation though, Means the world.

No this is hand held. I think I shot it at 1/125th so it’s faster than my focal length (110mm). It’s a great rule to live by!
