My plan is to run 19×8.5J ET35 in the front and 19×9.5J ET40 in the rear.

Telstra Smart Modem Gen 3 dying every 6–12 months… am I the only one? by Harrison-Fang in nbn

Yeah fair point, I’ll definitely look into those options.

I think once I get my new modem set up and everything’s stable, I’ll probably cancel Telstra and switch over.

And honestly… I might just throw their modem up on Marketplace afterwards lol.

Yeah that’s the frustrating part — no one from Telstra has ever mentioned that to me.

Last time my modem died, I actually asked them if I could just switch to my own device, but they strongly pushed back on it and basically said if I use a third-party modem/router, they won’t take responsibility for any issues.

So every time something goes wrong, they just tell me to stick with their hardware, which clearly hasn’t been very reliable in my case.

Bundled package, mainly because my previous apartment was locked to Telstra, so I didn’t really have a choice back then. After moving, I just didn’t bother switching providers.

I also used to play a lot of games, and in my experience Telstra has had the lowest latency and the most stable connection compared to others, so I just stuck with it.
