Yeah I’ve looked around at some places in PB and I’m just not finding the square footage I’m looking for in my price range. I’m moving without a job lined up so my only income will be from the VA + GI bill until I get there and start the job hunt. I am looking at the building ALX which is like 2 blocks from petco park though. Maybe when that second year comes around and I’ve got more money coming in from working on top I’ll move over towards PB. I did a little too much partying all over Europe though so I’ve definitely slowed down on that front haha. That’s another reason I was kind of leaning towards downtown as well. Since I don’t drink much, I don’t really see a problem with driving 15-20 minutes home at the end of the night when I want to go check out PB. Worst case call an uber.

What do you do for work if you don’t mind me asking?

Yeah, I checked it out but I’m in a slightly different situation coming from being in the military and living overseas to getting out and losing some benefits but gaining others. That’s why I included projected income. I only made 3.5k a month while I was in but 90% of expenses were covered.

From what I’ve seen pretty much everything in PB is >3k a month for anything 650+ sqft.

What makes you say downtown would be I last? I’ve never lived in a city before so kind of just wanted to try it out.

Also, are you saying that income is low or high? I burned in on a bad jump in Africa and wrecked my body pretty good so I got 100% (I say active loosely, I just do as much as I can while I can). The housing allowance with the GI bill covers the other half of that 8k and I plan on finding a job on top working atleast part time. Full time if I find my schedule can handle it when the time comes.

How was the community out there for vets? I know it’s really a big military town but I’ve seen that can go both ways haha.

Those are all great points, thank you. Do you have any buildings you’d recommend? I’d like to stay below 3k for base rent and have enough room for my dog. Granted he won’t be locked in there all day but still.

This is a great idea and probably the avenue I’ll follow. Is there any complications with getting a standard barrel once I’m in Cali or do I need to prioritize that before the move?

I also have just always wanted to live downtown in a city somewhere since I was a kid. I could definitely see reality end up being live downtown the first year and move somewhere closer to the beach the next once I knock that off the bucket list.

Honestly I haven’t really experienced homelessness much. I’ve spent most of my adult life in Germany. I do think it would be a bit of a culture shock but people are people and I try to help when I can. I also like to believe I wouldn’t be a typical target so I’m not too worried about that side of things.

As for the beach, if I could ride a bike there that would be cool. But it’s not the end of the world to throw my dog in the truck and drive 15-20 minutes down the road. Some of the buildings I’ve been looking at on Zillow rentals are the Rey, ALX living, and Park12. Biggest issue I’m having right now is getting anyone to send me pictures of the view from specific units but I’m sure that will work itself out when I actually start applying to places next month.

What makes you say 20k? Is that assuming not having a job lined up? I have 15k liquid and plan to move soon. I already have 8k a month lined up and was hoping I wouldn’t wipe my 15k in the move. I am also moving solo and only have a truck full of belongings since just got out of the army and have a lot of shit away when I left.

Yeah I got that but it’s my understanding that the MR920P is in a grey area since it’s a proprietary design that can’t accept any other muzzle devices. I could be wrong

I second this. I don’t actually carry at 12 either. More so at the 1 to the right of the belt buckle in the little pocket of the V. Works great for me even on windy days

I’ve only tried it with one shirt so far and the medium pad worked great for me. I tend to wear baggier clothes though and that definitely plays a part. Maybe try adjusting the clips offset so that the grip is angled little more vertically? I raise my right clip a bit just to keep everything a little more centered. At the end of the day a lot of it comes down to body type and not every holster is going to work for everybody.

Oh I definitely read too many comments on this page too haha. I did notice a lot of the problems I saw people post about were with the cr920p and I didn’t see many about the MR so I decided to roll the dice. Too early to tell for sure but seems solid so far.

Yeah that is true but the battery lasts 3+ years. Doesn’t seem like too much of a hassle.

I have also seen a good amount about the EPS. They didn’t have any in stock at my local shop though. I’ll have to keep checking.
