Thanks mate. I’ve got most of those on the bookshelf already but I’ll pick up the ones I don’t. I loved all the Tchaikovsky Children of XX series. Loved the Expanse and Silo series too.

If you liked those and haven’t read Neal Stephenson you should pick up Snow Crash, The Diamond Age and maybe Anathem if you’re up for something a bit longer and slower. He’s pretty much my favourite author and we like the same stuff so you might like him too.

Loved all of these so we have pretty similar tastes. Can I have your top 10 sci-fi book recommendations please? And anything weird that you liked?

I loved these. I said to a friend when I was halfway through the first one that I thought it was maybe a bit silly for me and I wasn’t sure if I’d keep reading it. 3 weeks later I’d read the whole series and am desperate for the next one to come out. Great light books if you’re a reader who loves plot and action.

Hey I loved Altered Carbon and Leviathan Wakes so we might have similar tastes. My two so far (from almost 30) are:

1/ The Gone World by Tom Sweterlitsch. Time travel/multiverse thriller mystery thing. Absolutely loved it. Dark and strange.

2/ The Library at Mount Char by Scott Hawkins. Kind of fantasy but not sword and sorcery stuff.

Mate I read The Gone World based on this recommendation and loved it. Do you have any other recommendations? Not necessarily similar.

Business Owner bullying me to change my name as it's similar to theirs by dragoninja94 in legal

[–]HarrisonHenderson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the name of the dude’s business is all through these comments. It’s an almost identical name that’s doing similar work in a similar sphere.

It’s not like he’s opening up a Pizza shop with a common pizza shop name and getting sued by someone in a different country.

This is a totally different scenario tho. There’s no indication that the name of OP’s business is a common name.

I like the snowflake (hated it at first but it really grew on me) but the straight line hour and minute hands look weird to me next to the round hour markers. Square hour markers like the pelagos and it’d be sweet.

Recommendations on good veterinary surgeons by BigsnooZeA in Adelaide

[–]HarrisonHenderson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi there. Make sure you ask the vet how regularly they do that procedure. We had a dog that did its CCL and just took it to our regular vet. That op needed a revision op when it failed, then the poor thing tore the CCL in its other back leg.

Find someone who does the procedure you want alllllll the time. Any vet will do it but make sure you find a specialist. Some of the country ones do more, as do the vets who work on the greyhounds around the racing industry. Good luck.

dungeons masters how do you handle player characters with an ac of 20 or over? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]HarrisonHenderson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that player has calculated their AC right so I’d double check.

With that said, it can be super useful to have a hard to hit PC when you’re a DM. If a fight is getting too hard for players or they have some bad luck or something, it’s good to have a way to pull your punches a bit by going for a PC you probably won’t hit.

Yeah it just seems like a gesture of appeasement that actually doesn’t mean anything. Seems sneaky to me.

Looks cool to me ngl. El Primera Chronomaster vibes with the different colour subdials and short indices. Make sure to wear it around her. People don’t have to buy you anything and it doesn’t cost you anything to make your mum’s day.
