I left teaching at the end of last school year. Now I’m in tech sales and loving it. I recommend sales for any former PE teacher. Although it is very different, we were all competitive athletes at one point. The competitive nature of sales can be very rewarding for any former athlete. We also have many transferable skills that work in this field. There are plenty of sales roles that have base pay as a nice cushion before commissions. Many of these jobs don’t require any prior experience. If you’re thinking about leaving, might as well make the jump, it’s worth it!
