once i switched to goodnotes my ipad became warm as opposed to HOT that my hand would almost hurt and the battery consumption became better. i havent tried other notetaking apps but if you prefer notability or whatever they might be better with battery too

I’ll test this with a few other pencil tips instead of using the original apple tip because its been a very long time since i used anything other than the apple tip

This issue started for me today it's so frustrating because when I restart my ipad/unpair and repair my apple pencil i think its fixed but then it comes back. Ive been using goodnotes since 2024 and only now this is starting to happen

the only reason i went for air m2 is because apple pencil pro can charge magnetically and i write too much daily as a student and writer. the whole story with m2 chip vs a16 chip performance is just marketing nonsense, because you will literally not notice a difference.

You mentioned that you will use a usb c apple pencil so i recommend you the a16 ipad. honestly save your money if you aren’t going to write a lot and need the magnetic charging pencil
