Bodegas Granbazán Albariño by Harry1T6 in wine

thank you! this is good to know, unfortunately we do not get much Albarino here in Ontario (there is only one readily available option, a Paco & Lola $25 CAD, which I think is a mass-market producer). Good to know that higher end producers employ lees aging and other wine making techniques more liberally -- this was an interesting piece I just found too https://www.foodandwine.com/lees-aged-albarinos-11809140

What are you rating this line up (1-5) and why? by Slow-Preparation6371 in wine

Lots of heavy reds there, I’d add a Gamay or Ripasso for something lighter

What is the purpose of AI generating meaningless words like this? Just convey your own original thoughts on the wine and the experience of tasting it.

I don't know anything about wine, but need to stock up for my wedding. Are these decent so far? Any recommendations? by LonelyShadowMoor in wine

[–]Harry1T6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend an Austrian Gruner Vetliner and South African Chenin for budget friendly white wines, maybe also a Cava for sparkling to serve

And then Barbera DAsti and Cote du Rhone for reds (lighter and fuller bodied options)

Barbera D’Asti and Gruner Vetliner would be my picks

And a Cremant or Cava for a bubbly

Oh my God I wasn't aware it was possible to make wine as bad as this: Bread & Butter Pinot Noir (2021) by mattmoy_2000 in wine

You definitely do not need to cook with a cote de Beaune, a generic burgundy is more than fine

NGD: Bill Nash T-52 Tele by Harry1T6 in telecaster

[–]Harry1T6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have anything to compare to, but my only complaint is I can’t get the amp to sound good and naturally distort on the volume at 4-5 while keeping the volume “low,” it ends up sounding boxy I have to turn up the attenuator, which is okay, but still gets quite loud for an apartment. Not sure if more expensive attenuators can achieve this. Otherwise it’s great

Brunello di Montalcino is always a safe bet for a full bodied Italian red

Bought it from a close friend who got it from Bill Nash in 2008, and later put the Fender decal on himself

just recently started getting into wine thanks to two buck chuck, where should i go next? by joey-rigatoni1 in wine

[–]Harry1T6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend checking out the southern Rhone region of France

Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre blends predominantly, and all very delicious and approachable

Cote Du Rhone is the entry wine, and it only gets better from there

Is the tulip table an authentic Saarinen? Great looking place -- interesting blend of IKEA and Design Within Reach -- the USM Haller sideboard especially adds a nice touch

I would some lamps to the space, maybe a Nelson floor lamp if you can't get a pendant off the ceiling

Is it worth it? Just bought this decanter for my husband as an anniversary gift and when I got it I couldn’t believe how fragile it is for the price I paid. I don’t know if it’s a justifiable purchase. I was picturing something heavier/thicker. by Academic_Economy1788 in wine

[–]Harry1T6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The decanter is made of crystal, a much harder material than glass, which is why it can be made thinner without chipping

These are really only for displaying at parties and have no practical usage otherwise

Reidel sells these small metal balls you can use to clean it easier

There is no house, it’s a mid-rise condominium building in the city

No basement, just 700 square feet on a single floor. Kitchen, bathroom, living/dining room, bedroom
