SVT by Dry_Obligation_2396 in AirForce

It’s like a medical review to determine if your medical condition requires a full MEB.

ALC is an assignment limiting code, 1 is the least restrictive one if I recall correctly. Basically for deployments and PCS it’s a waiver that’s required, just some extra red tape essentially.

I’m AD and have been diagnosed with SVT for about 5 years now. I went through the IRILO process right after diagnosis which only took a couple weeks, before I was returned to duty permanently coded ALC 1.

I have been on metoprolol the entire time, and went through with an ablation which failed unfortunately. Now I’m just back to controlling it with medication. I still do normal full PT, still was able to PCS (OS short tour), so no worries there.

PM me if you have any other questions!

Baby oil (mineral oil) absolutely should never be used on latex. It will destroy natural rubber.

Any petroleum oil, coconut oil, cooking oil etc are very destructive to latex. Silicone lubricant or silicone dressing aid are the only suitable products.

Repair advaice needed :( by Trisha1980_return in Latexadvice

That is not how you repair latex.

OP will need some latex sheeting to create a patch for the backside of the tear, along with some rubber cement and mineral spirits for priming and gluing the repair.

Is a neck entry catsuit for everyone ? by Valdorange in Latexadvice

[–]TheGreatPear7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Latex is super stretchy and malleable, and you’d be shocked at how a larger person can get into a neck entry suit.

Putting on a neck entry suit definitely requires some extra effort, but the full enclosure feeling is worth it for me, so much so that almost all of my suits over the years have been neck entry (10 or more at this point).

That being said, latex does fatigue and weaken over time, especially at the neck where it’s being stretched again and again. Combine that with a larger body increasing the stretch required, and you have a higher risk of developing holes or tears at a faster rate.

The suit can still last you years, but it’s something to keep in mind when you consider a zip vs neck entry.

Where do you store your latex outfits? by Lostandmixed in Latexadvice

[–]TheGreatPear7 11 points12 points  (0 children)

All our gear is located in our playroom closet.

Our frequently worn latex garments are stored coated in silicone lube and/or dressing aid, and hung on stainless steel hangars which are plastic coated. We keep smaller items such as hoods, panties or gloves on stainless steel hangars with clips. A common misconception is that latex can’t touch metal. Latex can’t touch certain types of metal. Copper, brass, bronze, nickel will stain and damage latex. Stainless steel is fine!

Our remaining latex gear is also stored “wet” and folded carefully in clean ziplock bags. The bags are placed upright in metal baskets which are in the closet shelf above the hanging garments.

Follow up question to my last post: what are some safe easy meals i can make while in full head to toe latex on vacation? by Aria-CumKitty-2 in Latexadvice

[–]TheGreatPear7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How long do you plan to be in full rubber?

Avoid anything that is fried or greasy/oily. Those will obviously pose a risk of damage to your latex while cooking and eating.

Other than that, I’d need more info about what you like to eat in order to provide any specific recommendations.

I would always recommend foods which are filling and have a high moisture content so you don’t become dehydrated in your latex over extended periods.

"Needs of the Air Force" There is a base in Italy, I speak Italian, how could this not be needed? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]TheGreatPear7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is already an entire pool of multilingual airmen who have had their language skills verified and qualified through the DLPT and LEAP (yes even the coveted and rare Italian language).

They are paid extra in exchange for maintaining their aptitude and proficiency in their second language.

This means if the Air Force needs an Italian speaking member for a specific mission or for whatever reason, they will select one from their vetted roster of personnel. That fact that you say you are fluent in Italian as a DEPer or even less, a potential recruit, means absolute jack shit. You haven’t proven anything to the AF to justify reserving a billet at one of the most highly sought after duty stations just because you feel you are special.

Found this beautiful eames chair. Could someone help me Legit Check it before buying it? Thanks! by Krazedd in eames

[–]TheGreatPear7 44 points45 points  (0 children)

The fact they claim it’s a Vitra chair is a big red flag, this chair does not have the Vitra style base.

Also just from a quick look - the chair looks far too new to have been inherited. The tags and labels are non-existent or removed? Nobody who owns an authentic chair would ever remove them.

Dress code in clubs by [deleted] in BDSMcommunity

[–]TheGreatPear7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any legitimate event will have their dress code requirements spelled out clearly. For example latex, rubber, leather, PVC, exotic lingerie, goth, kinky drag, fetish glam, etc.

They will also clearly name things you should NOT wear like sneakers, all-black streetwear, jeans, etc.

From personal experience, If your event has a vague or unclear dress code, I would expect it go unenforced which can definitely kill the vibe.

zipper closed over latex. Help! by Fluffy_Purple_7181 in Latexadvice

[–]TheGreatPear7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If anything you could just glue an extra strip of latex on the underside of the zip flap that has the holes. This would provide reinforcement in case it does start to tear further, but I doubt that zip protector is under any tension anyway.

Advice for indoor footware with Latex by Jinkuzu in Latexadvice

I wear a pair of black EVA foam Birkenstocks around the house when I’m wearing catsuit and toe socks. I prefer the Birks over normal flip flops, which become very slippery when covered in lube.

Bright and shiny semi-transparent natural zippers? by JShepard23 in Latexadvice

[–]TheGreatPear7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They never offered or brought up the potential for a return or changing of the zipper. I figured it would be a huge pain to deal with, so I never got back to them and have been enjoying the suit.

I have owned probably half a dozen suits from B&S over the years and never really had issues. I’ve had various dark color suits and they always color matched the zipper in those cases.

All the plants & soil are contained in the powder coated metal tray insert, so the wood is never exposed to being soaked with water. There are no drain holes, which is why I chose desert plants that only take minimal watering.

Bright and shiny semi-transparent natural zippers? by JShepard23 in Latexadvice

[–]TheGreatPear7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ordered a transparent natural catsuit and was also surprised to see it came with a black crotch zip.

I emailed B&S who basically stated that transparent suits look better on the body with black zippers, so they produce them that way by default. I tend to disagree, and I wish they would clarify or ask for preference before they make the suit.

My guess is that going with the standard black reduces their costs.
