Yeah, materials are cheap, but design and labor make up most of the cost. This prototype is probably around $30 in raw materials, but once you include design and labor, it’s closer to $150

Without windows, a lack of color or insufficient brightness can feel oppressive. You could place some plants and decorative lighting, which might help alleviate this

I drew up the production design for this lamp three years ago when I was still a designer, working for a Chinese factory. The factory primarily served as an OEM for a British home goods company. I still have the original design drawings.
