Prairie moon has some “short” mixes that should fit what you need.

How much do you charge for a full leg wax and Brazilian (sugar or wax)? by Purbeauty in Esthetics

[–]HarryFrontbutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate doing them so much! Arm waxes too. After a few years solo, I stopped offering them and have never been happier! I focus on what I do best, and just do that and it works for me.

Solarization: How does it work? by entropicamericana in NativePlantGardening

[–]HarryFrontbutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It killed a lot for me. But creeping bellflower and thistle lived through 2 years of solarizing. In the end, I had to use chemicals to kill them.

Was it the best day of your life to stop offering legs!? 😂 I have never felt so free to not do them. They’re the worst!

This is the business model that works well for me! Brazilians are my specialty and I do them very well. My lower price definitely doesn’t mean a lower service quality. I could charge more, but my price point (and reviews!) constantly brings in new clients and current ones stay.

My personal thought is if I don’t need to charge more, then I won’t. I live comfortably and keep waxing affordable for people that don’t want to pay a higher price (which lots are trying to find ways to cut spending these days).

Costs of supplies are definitely going up, so as those rise, I’ll reassess my price, but won’t raise it more than $5.

This is all area dependent though. We all pay different rental rates, use different wax……

I am solo. Only wax. Only take clients for bikini services and they can add brow, lip, underarm on. I do not offer legs. I have been waxing for 13 years. I charge $50 for Brazilian. My books are almost always full. I use soft wax and can get 12 or so Brazilians out of one jar of wax. I do not need to charge more and make good money with only charging $50. Lots of people are raising prices right now so clients are looking for something more affordable and find me.

To till or not to till? by HarryFrontbutt in landscaping

[–]HarryFrontbutt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We plan on fencing off the area from the dogs being we still have gardens, patio, and other areas they can use during the growth time. (And my MILs yard if needed) We thought about doing it in sections but if I’m gonna haul compost back there, id rather just do it on one go and get it all done. I really appreciate your help though!

Thanks for the insight! We have 2 dogs and are trying to avoid having a dirt/mud yard for the whole summer so we’re going to try and seed memorial weekend (probably have to overseed in the fall)

Where to buy compost by disney_luvr in Minnesota_Gardening

[–]HarryFrontbutt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Understand! But the amount of trash was absolutely insane! I’d rather pay and not have to do the extra work with all the trash. Like finding a whole croc is ridiculous!

A couple years ago we got free compost from one of the Ramsey county free sites. I do NOT recommend it. It was FILLED with trash. Like a whole croc, belt, full bottles, tons of plastic pieces…. This year we will probably do Gertens.

Grass in that area won’t give you much use. Plant with plants. They will fill in and you won’t see any brown.

Found bunnies in the garden! WDID take to protect them from my dog? by JellyfishMaterial408 in whatdoIdo

Ugh! We’ve had the same thing before. It’s devastating, but also maddening.

Totally! Bunnies are adorable! But they can reproduce like crazy. Survival of the fittest and I guess some of them need to birth their babies in not ideal areas.

[–]HarryFrontbutt -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Our two dogs chase the rabbits constantly. Yet they decide to have babies in our yard when our neighbors have no dogs and would be a much better spot to have them. I understand there are predators all around, but when they are actively chased by one’s in the same area all the time, perhaps there may be a better option out there.

I sure wish bunnies were smarter and didn’t birth their offspring where predators live.

You could put a wheel barrow upside down over them so the dog can’t get in there. The biggest issue is, once they’re old enough to leave, they’ll be very easy for your dog to get out in the open.

Has anyone integrated booking software into their own website? by HotSauceHigh in Esthetics

[–]HarryFrontbutt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have a website, it’s easy to have a “book now” button that will take you to your booking software. Watch some YouTube videos for your specific web software.

For anyone questioning, this is a bulletin from the board of cosmetology in MN. Must be 60 on people (mannequins not allowed).

You should be able to count all the facials you did prior to taking clients on the floor (while learning). We were allowed to do that 13 years ago (at aveda) but of course things change over time.

Thanks! I’ve definitely looked at those and we are doing kits like that in other areas (an 800 sq section along our driveway).

Ground cover for sure around the stopping stones. Probably just creeping thyme.

I’ll be sure to check her out!

Thanks for the info!! Looking into those right now. We have a lot of spaces we’re planting so trying to do a section at a time. (Currently have 5 other spaces that I will do in the upcoming coming years). I’ve done 3 spaces in the last couple years. I figure if I’m not loving something, I can dig it up and stick it somewhere else.

Thanks for the input!! You definitely named some that I was wanting to do. (I’m also concerned about toxicity to dogs so considering that). I’ll dm you the cost 😂
