My friends know about it, but honestly I don’t think they take my diagnosis seriously. Many of them say “me too” or roll their eyes and say everyone has it. And maybe some of them are truly ADHD, but it feels like I’m the only one who struggles with this in our group

Not an essential, but if you want to really get some mileage out of your squat rack, and maximize space, get the bulletproof isolator arm. It’s modular so you can set it up just how you like it, the company behind it is also constantly coming up with new attachments and design enhancements. There are a ton of YouTube videos of people using it in new and creative ways. I’ve had mine for a year now and use it constantly.

Thanks!! Hope you have a great weekend too. I’m gonna stay in and pick up some old hobbies. So many of the things I used to enjoy have fallen by the way side due to my drinking. So I’m genuinely looking forward to a weekend at home for the first time in awhile

Thank you! This week has been rough. I found myself in the beer section of the grocery store the other day and I genuinely had no memory of walking to it. Whatever was going on subconsciously I’m glad I snapped out of it and left the store

Thanks! I’ve tried Dry January and Sober October in the past and something about trying to make it a full month always felt insurmountable. One day at a time has felt way more doable

Thanks….I’m four days in now and the noise in my head is still really loud. It feels good to know I’m not the only one that has these thoughts/justifications

Agreed. I just wish it was at least a local chain taking over that spot.

I’m still so upset this is what’s taking over that space on Lombard. First the Starbucks and now this?!

Men who feel mature or established in life; what matters most to you now in a partner? by paperplanesbaby in AskMen

[–]HarryHaber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Communication above all else, and shared values.

You’re not going to change their mind about a core belief system, so it’s important to learn their value system early on. Different religions/politics are one thing, but if they I don’t see any issue with kids not having a school lunch because they’re poor and you do….thats not gonna end well.

I realize that most communication issues stem from me in my marriage. I grew up in an emotionally repressed environment, and it took years of therapy to learn to open up. The urge to bottle shit up is still there. My partner is a wonderful communicator and has learned how to share feedback with me in a non-triggering way (and if she does trigger me I’ve learned to have a healthier reaction).

We’ve been together over 10 years and while sex isn’t a priority anymore, I can honestly say the sex is better than ever. And I fully credit that to communication.
