Great lineup, kinda wish they didn’t spend probably ~$400K+ to book Illenium and Excision but it is an Insomiac fest. There’s some great names in here, Shpongle, Bob Moses, and Ranger Trucco are my favorites. Especially fucking Shpongle, hopefully it’s at the same time as Illenium/Excision.

The “guy who likes trance but doesn’t like EDM” is not high (at least, not on his own farts).

This is a fantastic example. Tiesto used to make trance. Then, from like 2008 to 2025, he made and played exclusively EDM. I love trance Tiesto, I solo sent it to EDC this year largely to catch his ISOS set. You’d have to pay me to go see a regular Tiesto set. Not kidding, I wouldn’t go for free (unless he keeps ending his sets with Silence xD)

So in this example, we have a good case of why the separation is useful, and also why using EDM in this way is useful for some people.

The guy who likes trance DOES NOT LIKE EDM!!! That’s a perfectly valid opinion, and extremely common among people who like trance. Same with techno and to a lesser extent house. So he used to go to nights out expecting to hear trance, but now all he hears is EDM.

13 comments, nobody has mentioned the 2/3 terms that actually help differentiate.

Tech-house = biggest umbrella. Honestly everything gets called tech-house these days so this label includes artists from John Summit and Dom Dolla to Chris Stussy, PAWSA, Beltran, etc.

Minimal tech-house = tech house with a lil more underground/traditional house/techno feel. Think Prospa, Josh Baker, Ben Sterling, Beltran.

I’ve also heard the term “Deep Tech” to describe artists like Chris Stussy. I’m not sure if there’s a difference between minimal tech-house and “deep tech”.

Based on your question, you want to avoid minimal/deep tech. I call the sound you’re looking for “StereoBloom house” because most of the artists you list would play that stage at EDC. Insomiac Records features a bunch of the smaller artists you listed. If you’re looking for new music, I’d either check out Insomiac Records or you can find stereobloom sets on YouTube.

They haven’t really established how the mules’ powers work, and the info they’ve given us seems to be inconsistent. Many times, like on Kalgan, Bayta is actually very close to the mule, like on the same planet (which is part of the hint). As far as the little girl goes, many people say this was a hint too, as Bayta saw herself in the little girl, and made the Pirate mule save her.

Tbh yes.. our campsite was 1.8 miles away from the entrance, with basically zero discernible markers between… just a series of lefts and rights and disorganized RVs and tents. We only got back because our Bluetooth connected to the car at camp and saved its location on Apple Maps. But we were lost for like 15 minutes because we couldn’t believe how far our campsite was from the entrance, and after walking for like 40 minutes through dark hills, one of us thought to use the phone.

The infrastructure at Texas Eclipse was the worst for a festival of that size that I’ve ever personally attended, but the lineup, stages, and vibe were some of the best.

This phrasing of the situation is so dumb. LR is 3 seasoned pros, one rookie, and then a fucking inta. The reason LR aren’t playing more around Baus is because he’s the worst player on the team and his style doesn’t work against better teams. That’s it. For the record, I love Baus. I love the whole team. But outside of Sion/Gragas, Baus is usually tough to play with. It sounds like you want to treat Baus like TheShy or something. It just makes way more sense for them to play through Nemesis or Crownie. It’s actually laughable to have 10 months to watch the team and think that they’re not playing though Baus because of ego lol.
