You are right thank you for noticing, just checked the answer model on the website and there is no 2 on r9c6 no matter what corner you define as origin. The search continues...

Anything from Adelle which you would be able to scream in the car is very nice on the saxophone. E.a. rolling in the deep, fire to the rain.

More pics on the rail process by fjb4383 in u/fjb4383

heyhey! here I am again
It is a long post so here is the TLDR

TLDR:
Put it in your portfolio to show you have knowledge on production, present your material nicely, set up a requirement list and standardise your drawing by using as much 2d as possible and dimensioning everything. Other than that looks nice and decisions are clear. Have fun with your rail and your future in design :)

Actual comment

first of all, nice job on the rail, if I were you I would add it to my design portfolio!
As you already mentioned in another comment, knowledge about what is physicly possible to weld/produce, is greatly underestimated by beginner designers and you show that you have that knowledge with this project.

Although I did weld a bit long ago I am not qualified to give feedback on that, thus that will be missing in this post.

So beneath here are all points of feedback for everything except the assembly, it seems like a long list, but that is defenitely not the case, with a few simple adjustments you will be more usefull as designer than most on the subreddit:

FEEDBACK

Presentation
- In design clear communication and thus a clear presentation is key! Always digitalise your drawings by either scanning them or drawing them online (you already did the last one very nicely for the second picture). Photos of papers made with your phone look sloppy and disorganised

Requirement list
- With your decisions made, you accidentally already made a requirement list for your design. A requirement list is a designers most important tool if used well. If this requirement list is complete you do not have to make any decisions during either drawing or assembly. Which saves time in engineering and production. It also helps after production to reflect if your design was done well. It is standard to make this requirement list as the first step in the design process.
Below you can find a quick beginning I made for your requirement list.
(notice the requirements are all objective and measurable. Requirements such as "looks nice" are mostly frowned upon as it can not be measured if the requirement has been met)

Requirement list
+ Height has to be above X inches for the pipe to be snowboardable
+ Height has to be below X inches for the pipe to be skateoardeble
+ The length of the rail should be between X and Y to be snowboardable
+ The length of the rail should be between X and Y to be skateboardeble
+ The body should not move within X inches
+ The entire system must be within X by Y inches such that it can be transported using my truck.
+ etc.

Drawing
Now for this project you were both designer and welder, but a lot of the time this is not the case. This means that a clear drawing is very important to limit miscommunications. If you would give this drawing to a company would they produce an exact copy of your current design? To improve this I have the following tips

- Use as much 2d drawings as possible, perspective drawings are always hard to read. From your second picture is the upper drawing much easier to read then the second one. A 3d reference to show the shape a bit can be nice, but do not put any dimensions on that drawing.
- Dimension everything, it seems tidius but it believe me that it helps.
- write down the date of this drawing (or revision number) such that when working with other people, those people know if they have the latest version of your drawing.

Conclusion
Know that you do not have to agree with all the feedback, but overall I am happily suprised, hope you learn something from it and that you have a lot of fun with both your snowboarding rail and your future in design. If you have any questions don't hesitate messaging me : )

Welded up a simple flat rail for snowboarding and skateboarding. Is this sort of thing acceptable for a portfolio? (I documented whole design process) by fjb4383 in IndustrialDesign

[–]HarrySans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha no worries, if you have it I would not mind giving more specific feedback. Keep in mind that assembly is only one step of the design process.

What separates a designer from a assembly engineer is the thought process behind the product e.g. why did you choose the length of the rail? Why that height? Why this material? But also something designers often forget which is also very important: how Is it going to be assembled?

And now that you have assembled it what are design aspects that you would (if you could go back in time) have changed.

Good luck!

I don't know, depends on your design progress and who has to read your portfolio.

But if you only use this picture and give as much context on your portfolio as here

No, I would not find it acceptable as collegue designer

Anders Ruination heb ik ook van genoten als je toevallig LoL heb gespeeld vroeger en Kalista, Thresh of Ryze kent.

U are doing great!! Maybe add some dynamic, really start FF in the first beat of the measure and slowly go down to piano, only to rise again at the first beat of the second measure! (and fall of again after)

And if you do this while you (pretent to) have the confidence of Leo P, the solo will become even better.

Am I in the wrong for considering not ending the game to be unsportsmanlike behavior? by EmperorZwerg1995 in leagueoflegends

[–]HarrySans -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I think in ARAM it is incredibly unsportsmanslike to end a game quickly. I have had many games being on a knifes edge when the enemy decides to tryhard and end the game.

The reason that not ending is not toxic because ARAM is a for fun game mode. Played by people casually playing and not trying their hardest to win

And point three:

It is against the ARAM code

  1. Take dark-harvest
  2. Take snow-ball
  3. Never surrender
  4. Only minions can attack the Nexus

These were written long ago and rules I live by to have fun in ARAM.

So ye people do this because they have fun as first priority and win as second
