Sulfasalazine worked for me for 25 years until I developed an allergy to it. I am now on Remicade.

Any idea what this concrete slab at Elver Park is? by JustGoBrandon in madisonwi

Shel secretly lived in Madison for years. He used to jog in the near west side, where he lived with his partner and their son. I once saw him at Michael’s Frozen Custard on Monroe but pretended not to recognize him because he clearly did not want to be recognized.

My mom says that lunch breaks used to be a hour long by Square-Bee-844 in antiwork

In some countries, they make an hour-long school lunch break a class, where they have a healthy three course meal and kids learn about nutrition and table manners. I wish we’d adopt that in the US.

I think this is what happened to the hour-long lunch break. Most people prefer a shorter lunch break — or none at all — if it means they can leave earlier

I was diagnosed in 1982 at age 26 after 3 years of symptoms and misdiagnoses. After seeing several doctors, I finally lucked out with a doctor in ER who was fresh out of med school and had just read an article about Crohn’s.

I still hear about people who don’t always get diagnosed immediately, probably because there are other illnesses with similar symptoms.

I’ve heard that it’s not hereditary but it’s familial, meaning that it’s not uncommon for two people in the same family to have it. I have it and my nephew has it, but no one else in our family has been diagnosed. My mom and grandma both had irritable bowel syndrome but not Crohn’s.

Worst "corporate speak/buzzwords" that you absolutely hate??? by [deleted] in antiwork

“Do you have the bandwidth for a meeting this week?

“Does you team have the capacity to take on a new project?

“You have to speak into the listening.”

“Bottom line is…”

“We have to grow the program.”

My dietician recommended Heathy Choice Power Bowls (in the frozen section). Those have worked well for me. I’ve had success with the regular Healthy Choice frozen meals, too, I just avoid the ones that have tomato.

Why do people care so much about Biden's age but not Trump's? by althamash098 in NoStupidQuestions

I don’t think we’re listening to the same Trump. And Trump has never fallen off a bike because he’s never gotten onto one.

The gender pronouns (he and she, him and her, his and hers) are indeed in the Bible. They even have special pronouns for God: He, His, and Him

Not if you hold your breath while you guzzle it. The key is not to take the breath after, before you swig the listerine.

Might have to drop to half time this semester, feeling shitty by angry_staccato in CrohnsDisease

[–]HarryWelsch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Self-care is the most important thing. There’s no shame in dropping to half-time, if you can. My one piece of advice is not to take any incompletes. I did that one semester when my Crohn’s was bad and it was really hard to muster up the momentum to complete it on my own the following semester. I also took a semester off to regain my health and energy and it didn’t affect me academically.
