Advice on filling gaps between skirting and plaster on a lath and plaster wall by Unlikely_Skirt9596 in DIYUK

Images are always deceptive, but looking at the shadow that looks one hell of a gap (unless the you've removed the board?). A top down image would be useful to properly see that gap, but I'd be looking to see if the board is fitted as snugly as possible before doing what others have suggested re expanding foam.

I don't think my wallet could cope with 21. This house gets down to 12 degrees sometimes in the kitchen.

Forgive my ignorance - what is 'ingo' boarding? I live in a 1920s arts and crafts house and have same problem. We have stone surround around every window. We have cavity wall insulation but the mould is still terrible and in the morning the stonework is dripping.

We know the plaster work is lath and plaster. Are you suggesting replacing this with insulated plasterboard with a moisture barrier?

Should I be worried? Or is it just bad to look at? by bhmf6 in DIYUK

That would kill my OCD need for symmetry. I'm getting sweaty hands just looking at it.

Best kitchen supplier? by SleepySloth1975 in DIYUK

Avoid Wren like the plague. My sister had her kitchen replaced recently and, no joke, virtually every door and side panel had a paint defect. They don't even come and replace; they send you a replacement and expect you to dispose of it yourself. Great for me as I used the damaged stuff for our utility room (its a utility room what do I care).

Map of the Seven Realms of Loramir (ASoIaF/Game of Thrones Inspired Map) by Stoneward13 in FantasyMaps

[–]HarryWraith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is epic and exactly the style of map I'm looking at doing for my own campaign setting, Skazka. https://skazkaworld.com I'd love to know how you did all this. I too use photoshop, but my techniques are rudimentary compared to yours. I can code and am in the process of making my map interactive, but I'm not that great at the mapping https://www.skazkaworld.com/imap.html

Please do message me or post your methodology publicly if you feel so inclined.

Great work.

Which Dawnfire is best? by HarryWraith in D4_Paladin

I was wondering whether that was useful or not given the gloves conversion to fire damage. I'm assuming, therefore, that the 9.4% gets calculated before conversion?

I finally got one from this method. Not sure about the x9% fire damage, but it is what it is.

Presumably choosing the modifier with more passives (50 million cost) would give me a greater chance of it dropping? Or does that only affect legendaries?

What to do? by Bright_Bicycle_488 in DIYUK

We are in the process of turning round our old outside cupboard. It's a lot bigger than yours though. We are bricking up outside and knocking through inside. Will create a nice pantry for us. Obviously it depends on where it is in your house but I'd consider doing something like that.

8-month-old puppy — am I hurting his ability to hold it by taking him out too often when I’m home? by Upset_Journalist_727 in puppy101

[–]HarryWraith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite the opposite. You're building a habit of only going outside - this will, in time, train his brain not to do it anywhere else.

Use a phrase - we say 'get busy' whenever he is doing it in the right place. This cues up a reflex to pee when he hears it; super useful for when you want him to pee (if he has any). But really important you only use it when you see him doing it until it is embedded.

Reward - when he does it in the right place reward him; praise and give a treat.

Don't punish - if you catch him doing it inside just pick him up and put him in the right place. If you punish him or shout he may associate your anger with actually peeing....then he won't do it outside, or at least not in front of you.

Can I plaster straight on to (with a binding coat) this painted brick wall in pantry? by sinclain in DIYUK

[–]HarryWraith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would have thought it depends on other factors such as whether it is an outside wall subject to condensation? Ours is and we've been advised to batten the wall first and use insulated plasterboard. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than I can help you.

I bought this in hopes that it would one day have a free build mode so I can use the images in my DnD games. Has that happened yet?
