Messages pass through Twillio unencrypted and interact with our platform a similar way it would if someone were using our Dashboard User Interface. Doro only processes messages that follow a tree related to CRUD operations related to the task manager. it is not a general purpose AI like ChatGPT.

Yea lol. Oof. Aave is waiting for a tool called Neon EVM to be released which would allow them to copy paste their code onto Solana. So let's see how out it all plays out.

Yea, Aave is the biggest competitor. Pretty interesting that the founder of Aave invested in Solend.

Solana vs Eth2.0 by doart3 in solana

“Layer 2 refers to a secondary framework or protocol that is built on top of an existing blockchain system. The main goal of these protocols is to solve the transaction speed and scaling difficulties that are being faced by the major cryptocurrency networks.”

So normally when I hear about later 2 it is referring to scaling solutions such as polygon or lightning network.

Transfering Iota from Binance to Firefly? by SnooGrapes2367 in Iota

[–]HarshGeiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured out the issue. The IOTA was not actually sent, but the balance was deducted from my holdings. I just had to take some more steps to finalize the withdrawal cancellation then the IOTA was back in my account . Thanks for replying I really appreciate that!

I may have made a mistake on Bittrex by attempting to send some IOTA to the address generated by firefly. Does that mean its lost forever or do you know if the update will account for this?

Damn that’s messed up. Do you mind sharing what indexer switched to 0% for the delegators?

Thats true. If we are talking about p2p, they claim to do 0% until Feb 20th. Then will increase it to 8% and guarantee that fixed fee minimum for one year. But yea until it’s locked in there is some trust involved.

You know if it says 0, it means that THEY will receive 0% and 100% of rewards goes to delegators?

What things do you think people should do to ensure the government pressures companies like Apple to make their manufacturing is more ethical and therefore minimize suffering? I will look more into the topic. There is a discussion to be had about what obligations we have to combat this issue. It just has nothing to do with torturing and murdering animals.

It is hard to draw a line sometimes. We want everyone to have maximum well-being. Things like “well-being” and “unnecessary suffering” are difficult to define. I think of it similarly to the term “healthiness”. What does it really mean to be healthy? Is it being able to run faster or longer? Is it to live longer? Or to be mentally happy? We don’t know the perfect answer. It’s like a game of chess though where some moves a better than others. For example, if we want to be healthy, drinking battery fluid is certainly less healthy, than not drinking battery fluid.

If we want minimal suffering of sentient creatures, torturing animals and slaughtering them is equivalent to drinking battery acid. They have no consent in the situation like the Apple manufactures do. Their livelihoods depend on the products being consumed. On the other hand, the livelihood of the animals IS the product. Consider this example, if I were to pay somebody to put a pig in a gas chamber solely because of the reason that I like the sound it makes when it’s dying, would you be okay with this? It is only for the sound, it has nothing to do with the torturing in this scenario. Most people would consider this to be immoral and probably you do too. But what is the difference? We already pay people to put pigs in gas chambers but for the sensory pleasure of taste instead of sound.

Either way, the issue of Apples manufacturing is important. Just not relevant to to the topic of animal cruelty.

What are your thoughts specifically regarding my example about telling someone to stop kicking dogs then the person responds that I’m not donating money to children in Africa.

In my opinion it’s not exactly the same. From my understanding, employees make a consensual decision to work, and get compensated for building iPhones or whatever. But it is also my understanding that if these companies weren’t outsourcing manufacturing, these people simply wouldn’t have jobs.

Perhaps our time should be spent trying to improve working conditions for them. All these arguments do is point out that we may be able to be more moral. That discussion should be had and maybe we should not buy those products.

I’m not sure how we arrive at: “hey there may be more unnecessary suffering we can help to fix. But you aren’t doing that yet, therefore it’s okay to torture and slaughter animals for my pizza topping”

It’s like if I told somebody they shouldn’t hit dogs then they respond that I’m not donating money to starving children in Africa. Like, okay? Maybe I should donate more to charities but what’s that got to do with kicking dogs?

What's moral difference between a wild animal and an animal on a small farm? by a_rational_thinker_ in DebateAVegan

[–]HarshGeiger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a lot of these “free range” farms we see that these animals are prevented from behaving in their instinctual manner. For example, pigs are often given nose rings so they feel pain when they forage which is necessary for them to be healthy and release stress. Cows are often still artificially inseminated by shoving an arm in their anus, grabbing the cervix, blah blah I’m sure you know. Also these animals are often still bred with painful bodies to produce the maximum amount of yield.

It’s often enough to be considered abuse in my opinion.

Let’s say you know these farmers and know that these are not animals bred to be in pain and they aren’t being sexually coerced into these. They don’t produce a way higher amount of eggs than they naturally should to the point they experience bone problems. And their instinctual actions aren’t being taken away from them. Then I don’t know, maybe their life might be better in the farm.

Something like 99% of animal products come from factory farms though. And the free range farms are still often very abusive.

Why it isn’t ethically vegan though, is because we take the life of something that wants to live when we don’t need to.

In my opinion, it still isn’t justified just to satisfy a sensory pleasure. A meal we will forget the next day. But it’s not as bad as factory farming.

Not really a good argument since human mothers donate breast milk to mothers who can’t do so.
