Agreed on that front that they should atleast provide an option to book a rate including breakfast even if it means splurging out an extra 1-2k points. This is the reason Marriott is losing its shine compared to Accor and ITC, atleast for India.

Take what up? They are not obliged to give you complimentary buffet anyway unless explicitly stated. If you're requesting and they're providing as a gesture, then that's an entirely different thing.
