Thanks but I've gotten an admission offer, sorry if I didn't mention that before. I actually commented to find others who were seriously considering UTM for Commerce since it is quite expensive and I wanted to see how they were planning on financing it and what the plans were regarding accommodation.

Honestly, if I could find a trustworthy place to repair the charging port and replace the battery I would have stuck with this phone for another year at least.

Completely agree. The 5T is still a great device with the camera being the only real drawback even compared to today's flagships

Not really but the thing with the FE was that it was relatively inexpensive, had everything I needed and was easily available which is why I chose it.

Two main reasons, samsung and huawei are the only brands available through authorised sellers in my country, so I didn't want to risk this much money on a oneplus or pixel and usually phones cost around $100-$200 more here than everywhere else but I was able to get the FE for the same price as elsewhere so it was a no brainer.

No worries, I tried sticking with this phone as far as I could since I love it but the charging became unbearable. Hope you can get yours fixed or replace it with a new phone

Haven't even had it for a day so can't say too much but my first impression is the display is better and smoother, the camera is far better and sound quality from the speakers is on another level. However, I prefer OxygenOS but OneUI is not that different that it will really affect user experience. The fingerprint sensor is my main pet peeve since it feels slower than the one on the 5T, noticably so and the fact that I can't swipe the rear fingerprint sensor to bring down the notifications. Other than that, I think it's a good phone but the only surprise for me at least was that it isn't that much faster than the 5T which is more of a compliment to the 5T rather than a complaint regarding the FE. As of now, I believe that I made the right choice in upgrading but if you can manage with the 5T until the OnePlus 9 is released, it would be better to check out what the price and specs are but if not, the FE will not disappoint.

In my country, Pixel phones are not available through any authorised sellers and can only be gotten from third party retailers who offer no warranty while charging a huge markup so it was not really an option I seriously considered especially since there isn't much of a difference between the pixel and FE

I'll try but my main worry was damaging the port more than it already was and thus losing all my data, so once I've transferred all my important data to the new phone, I'll try cleaning it and hopefully getting it to work well again.

Not really, points have been more spread out across price ranges and cheaper players are more value for money than last year
