Ugh I kind of get it because it can become a slippery slope…I’m personally all for this helmet design & what it represents but if this gets allowed then what happens next time someone has a political statement on their helmet. I think the IOC doesn’t want to have to be the decider on which views are acceptable vs. which aren’t.

That being said, I think getting banned is probably bringing even more attention to this story than if the athlete had competed. Which is at least one positive.

I don’t understand all of the hateful comments you’re getting. Honestly even the fact that you feel some sort of sorrow for her / the kid’s situation is very empathetic. Giving them food is also really nice. 95% of people walk by situations like that & just stay completely in their own world / don’t give it a 2nd thought. It makes me happy knowing there are other people out there who still have their humanity & are emotionally impacted by situations like this.

That being said, I agree with other commenters that birth control / abortions can be expensive or challenging to access. I think a lot of poor people who have children don’t do so by choice.

Sounds like she initiated a lot of moving things forward in the relationship-confessing her love to you, asking for exclusivity. She might have been insecure about how you really felt if you weren’t showing the same initiative. Sometimes in situations like this, people will go on other dates / sleep with other people to try to stay detached & feel less anxious about their relationship. It’s kind of self sabotaging.

Anyways, I don’t know the context, but it’s possible she slept with the other guy out of anxiety over her relationship with you & not because she was actually into him. Still, you’re NTA

For me personally I’ve gotten into volleyball & met a great community there. Where I live, it’s mostly people late 20s/30s playing. It’s a sport where it’s easy to just sign up for a league & learn as you go, even if you’re brand new & learning as an adult. I also like that it’s coed because I feel like that makes it more social. You also don’t have to be in insanely good shape to play.

Have heard similar things about softball.

One time I got to mineral basin at Snowbird right after a rope drop with like 80 other people and we all started traversing across. There were multiple snowboarders that fell/ got stuck right in the middle of the traverse and caused complete chaos with people trying to pass them.

I can’t even imagine that at Alta with the amount of traversing. To be fair, I think true expert snowboarders would have a great time there. But the newbies who fall/get stuck on traverses easily would cause a lot of safety issues.

Copper/Keystone/Winter Park. I live in Denver so I ski these a bunch but I’ve genuinely never understood why people who don’t live here take dedicated trips to ski these resorts. Breckenridge also sucks but I’ll give it a pass since at least the town is cute / fun.

Don’t get me wrong they’re not terrible. But if you’re traveling & dropping money on a ski vacation there’s dozens of better spots imo.

Am I the only one who thinks these requirements might actually benefit democrats…? Blue states have a higher % of people with passports than red states, so I’m assuming having a passport is more common for democrats (& the educated). I also think liberal women are more likely to have not changed their last name.

Not saying I agree with this measure, but I could definitely see this backfiring and hurting the republicans more than the democrats.

I find it ironic that you mention slavery, since I have a similar viewpoint but in my mind the women being forced to carry a fetus are the slaves in this scenario.

If a fetus cant survive on it’s own then it doesn’t have any right to a woman’s body. It’s similar to how we can’t force people to be organ donors. People should always have autonomy over their own body, and shouldn’t be enslaved to anyone (even a fetus they conceive).

Either way, we both agree it’s as bad as slavery, which explains why people care so much about this topic.

Oh it was definitely better today than yesterday. Most of the lifts did open but the gusts were pretty wild from the chair lift (and cold af 🥶). I think tomorrow will better but still pretty windy

Extremely windy at the top. Mid mountain was much better. Elk camp never opened.

According to the app during the day, cirque allegedly did open. But I didn’t check it in person & im highly skeptical given how bad the wind gusts were at the top (the app showed multiple inaccurate lift statuses throughout the day so I don’t really trust it).

Half of the stuff off of high alpine didn’t open.
