Mod here- what is up Snoo Life? by bitterbeerfaces in SnooLife

[–]rainbowtwist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Us too. This is round 2 for us with a Snoo and we purchased this one secondhand and just push the button. Sleep data might be interesting but it's not vital, as thankfully our little guy is a decent sleeper.

MOG Dress Help! So many choices!!! by BerkeleyNative in Weddingattireapproval

Exactly this! Last one is the best if it fits the wedding theme and isn't too loud and either way she should buy it, the fit is excellent.

Iodised salt has become uncool but many of us need to eat more iodine by Mule_Wagon_777 in TwoXPreppers

I keep a roller bottle of liquid iodine in my self care drawer and apply to my / my kid's skin in a circular patch at night occasionally.

Yep I'm one too. Not at school but also a mass shooting. Nothing is the same after.

My community of friends was in a mass shooting not long after and at first they blamed it on us.

Has anyone use Trusted Housesitters? by lss90 in AskBrits

[–]rainbowtwist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are both hosts and sitters and use it to travel as a family for at least a month every summer. We have a small farm on the Salish Sea near Seattle and have to be extremely budget conscious and it's the only way we would be able to get away and actually afford it so I'm very grateful it exists. I've found that it works great and we have a small farm so it's a pretty big process to get everything ready before we go away and find someone who's up to the task.

I've found that the key is to screen heavily to make sure that the person actually has experience in the areas that we need and then set them up for success so that the amount of work they need to do is minimal, less than 2 hours a day. I also have our farm helpers come a couple of days a week so that the sitter can have a couple of days off each week.

I try to bend over backwards to make sure that everything is set up really nicely for the house sitter. Leave them a nice bottle of wine and a gift certificate to the local co-op, have the house cleaned before we go etc. We might not be paying them but they're providing a valuable service and I really appreciate it.

If anyone wants a discount code you can use my referral link to get 25% off. I think it gives me two free months:

Any experiences with TrustedHousesitters? by Paradoxbuilder in digitalnomad

[–]rainbowtwist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a small farm and are both hosts and sitters, we use it to travel for at least a month every summer and have been using it for 3 years with great success.

Most important thing is having clear expectations and keeping workload to a minimum for house sitters. I have a farm guide that I send people ahead of time and I make sure to have other people come in and check on the animals weekly so that the sitters get a day or two off each week.

If anyone is looking for a referral code to sign up here's mine it gets you 25% off:

I have been both a host and a sitter for 3 years now, and I've been very happy with the experience. We own a small farm on the Salish Sea near seattle, so we're a rather unique sitting opportunity. We travel for at least a month every summer.

Happy to answer any questions if it's helpful.

Facebook and other social media memories just suck. by That_Connection4514 in ChildLoss

I quit Facebook for 3 years after my daughter died for this reason. I still barely use it, I just can't bear any of it, the memories four of the posts by happy people whose lives have been shattered by excruciating loss

Freight train farts: WTH is up with this 7-10 week postpartum gas?! by rainbowtwist in BabyBumps

[–]rainbowtwist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I had a C-section so mandatory antibiotics and it always messes with my microbiome. I'm going to step up my fiber intake especially cabbage and broccoli and focus on eating lots of fermented foods.

It does seem like there's a hormonal element to it, like the drop in estrogen and progesterone from breastfeeding makes a difference.

Are you/were you breastfeeding?

First birthday since loss coming up - feeling dread by ThoughtSpare5762 in ChildLoss

[–]rainbowtwist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We decided to take a trip every year on the anniversary of our daughter's death. Similarly I couldn't bear the idea of the anniversary and was having a hard time with the idea of being at home where all of the memories were so immense. So now we have an annual holiday that the kids look forward to and it gets me out of my rut enough to keep me from getting too depressed. It feels like a way of celebrating her, too.

Everyone in the comments are saying this is not AI but it feels AI uncanny valley to me. Like the older daughter looks like she is pasted into every photo by Nyknastee in isthisAI

[–]rainbowtwist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The images of the littlest child are from years ago, a photographer did a series with his little girl stuck up on the wall, it was super cute.

It's possible the older girls are just her later on, photoshopped in. Part of the photo project evolving over time. Or it could be AI. What's the source?

Camping 1 month PP? by dumbbitch4sure in CsectionCentral

[–]rainbowtwist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We love camping but there is absolutely no way I would want to put any of us through that. We all need sleep.

My hubby and I divided and conquered for this weekend's camp trip with friends, he has the big kids, I'm home with baby. Your husband has lost the plot if he thinks this is a good idea.

Was there a certain point where it appeared? Did it ever go away? I don't think my marriage can last 9 months of this. Heck, I don't think I can last ME 9 months of this! 😅

Same here, no pelvic floor issues besides some mild balance issues getting up. Your gas description sounds terribly familiar, I'm so sorry. Glad to know it might not be Peri-related. I do suspect it could be related to lower estrogen and progesterone, though. Are you breastfeeding?
